Katie & Brandon: Something Blue Means Something More

Katie + Brandon | Sep 24, 2016

Katie and Brandon were fresh out of high school when they first met while working at Harris Teeter. Under the romantic glow of the pizza aisle lights, their talks turned from at-work conversation to texts and phone calls. It wasn’t long before their relationship blossomed and they each knew that they had found “the one.” After seven years of dating, they were ready to tie the knot and selected a gorgeous 350-acre working farm outside of Charlotte as their wedding venue. The rustic elegance of the farm tied-in perfectly with the couple’s vision of a “simple yet elegant” theme. The tree stump and burlap décor was complimented by simple flowers and old hand-painted signs that truly highlighted the quintessential beauty of the venue. A beautiful cake with burlap accents and a wooden topper was the perfect match for Katie and Brandon’s theme.

A big part of their wedding and a huge part of their lives is Brandon’s job as a police officer. Katie is so proud of the officer he has become and it was important to her that the traditional “something blue” highlight an even deeper meaning in their wedding. The couple wanted to use the color blue to represent the “Thin Blue Line,” an emblem that is symbolic to law enforcement so Katie and Brandon incorporated blue into as many elements as they could: Brandon donned a bright blue tie, Katie chose beautiful blue shoes and all the flowers were wrapped in blue ribbon.

From pizza aisle to down-the-aisle, Katie and Brandon’s wedding day was picture perfect as they dance the night away under the twinkling market lights surrounded by loved ones. Cassie Leigh Photography flawlessly photographed the love, the fun, and the special meaning of blue to this happy couple.

Congratulations, Katie and Brandon!
