Wesley Rainey + Justin Watkins | May 3, 2017
Wesley and Justin met through family who thought that the two would be perfect for each other! For at least two years, Justin’s sister and Wesley’s almost-godmother tried to get the two to connect but the timing just wasn’t right. Finally, they connected over Facebook and eventually had a lovely first date at a Cuban restaurant in Durham. Fast forward to when things came full circle and Justin took Wesley back to the same Cuban restaurant, only this time he had some surprises planned! When they arrived, the host led the two upstairs to a private room where a solo sweetheart table was set up. After telling Wesley how much he loved and appreciated her, Justin dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him! He even hired a photographer and arranged for their families to be there to share in the surprise!
For their engagement session, Wesley and Justin worked with Dajuan from In His Image Photography (he was the photographer from the night Justin proposed too!) and had a beautiful shoot around Uptown Charlotte. The couple loves the urban setting of Charlotte’s City Center and the relaxed beauty of Freedom Park so they knew the area would be perfect for their session! They started their day in casual attire in the park and even included their adorable dog for some family photos. Wesley and Justin then took their session to Uptown and dressed up for some romantic nighttime shots in front of some iconic Uptown locations. It was the perfect engagement shoot!
