Jillian Mourning + Philip Wegner |
Jillian wasn’t looking to date but when she connected with Philip at a nonprofit event in 2013, spending time together naturally happened. Knowing that Disney World was one of Jillian’s favorite places, Philip arranged a trip for them and their daughter to visit the “Happiest Place on Earth” over Thanksgiving. They spent Thanksgiving with Jillian’s good friends at their house in Orlando and while enjoying the evening on their lake house dock, Philip proposed to her with fireworks in the background.
For their wedding, Philip wanted a modern indoor wedding and Jillian wanted an outdoor garden-inspired celebration. The two compromised and decided on The Mint Museum Uptown, which was perfectly modern for Philip’s taste yet it’s airiness and openness could be highlighted with greenery and florals for Jillian’s garden vision. They chose a clean black and white color scheme with spontaneous pops of red and had their flower arrangements built with a lot of greenery to create a modern garden feel. Cascading florals and breezy white linens brought a relaxed yet elegant feel to the space while candles helped set a romantic, evening vibe. A hanging floral arrangement over their sweetheart table was absolutely stunning and truly brought their modern-garden vision to life. Jillian’s gorgeous flowing gown was the perfect mix of romantic, free spirited and sexy. Philip looked sharp in his ivory jacket that allowed him to stand out from his groomsmen. The favorite part of the couple’s day was dancing the night away and having a blast with everyone that they care about.
Congratulations, Jillian and Philip!
