Carly Shephard + Dakota Delgado | Nov 24, 2017
Trusting in your parents match-making skills isn't an easy thing to do but it worked out perfectly for Carly and Dakota! While they were reluctant to meet, one night both families happened to show up at the same restaurant to eat dinner (obviously their parents had something to do with that!). Their parents took the opportunity to introduce them to one another and what began as a friendship turned into so much more.
Fast forward a bit... Carly and her family had plans to go hiking but Dakota claimed that he couldn't go because he had other plans. Not thinking anything of it, Carly and her family went along with their plan when much to her surprise, Dakota was waiting at the top of the mountain with a ring and those four precious words: "Will you marry me?" Of course, Carly said yes, and her whole family was there to witness it and share in the amazing moment!
Carly and Dakota had their wedding in the backyard of the bride's childhood home making it such an intimate and personal affair. A soft fall color palette of ivory, blush and wine contributed to the romantic, November feel. The backyard’s natural greenery made for the prettiest setting and was highlighted with eucalyptus table décor and candles. The florals contained wine, blush, and ivory-colored flowers along with pops of greenery. The bouquets and centerpieces included ranunculus, roses, gerbera daisies, eucalyptus and winter berries that brought the burst of elegance that Carly envisioned to life. The couple personalized their day by incorporating DIY touches and including their families’ talents: their grandmothers took part in baking cookies for the cookie bar, Dakota’s brother provided the music, Carly’s dad built their ceremony backdrop and her little sister sang their first dance song. They also served pizza as their main dish since it’s their favorite meal followed by a delicious cake from Delish Cakery! The couple's love was so evident and they were so excited to be able to spend it with those that were the closest to them on their most special day.
Congratulations, Carly and Dakota!
