Charlotte, it’s truly the perfect place for a wedding (and yes, we know we are biased!). With four seasons, city and country landscapes, and a variety of super talented pros, couples are choosing Charlotte as their ideal place to say “I Do.” So how does a Charlotte bride choose where to go, when to get married, how long to plan and more? Well you start here of course!

Charlotte has “wedding seasons.” That means that April to June and September to October are going to have high competition for your venue, photographer, planner and other pros (especially the ones who can only do one wedding a weekend). So what’s an engaged couple to do?

  1. Start early. It seems crazy but if you are dreaming of an October wedding, you need to plan at least one year in advance (18 months would be better!).
  2. Be flexible. Found your dream venue but they are booked in October? Consider a November date. If you can be flexible on your date, you will be so much happier in your search.
  3. Consider off-season dates. Competition will be low if you are looking at a January or July wedding date which means you get your first pick for every category come wedding day. Plus, you can really have fun with these seasons by doing something so different than what people see at most spring/fall weddings.
  4. Enjoy! No matter when your planning starts or which date you choose, remember to enjoy. It’s the little moments during planning that you will always cherish!
