Bustld: What do you think makes you different in your field?
Andrew: I specialize in videography; it is solely what I do. I maintain my focus on video. I have also done a lot of work for small businesses and non-profits.
Bustld: How would you describe your style and ideal couple?
Andrew: I am looking for fun couples. Couples that are not too serious, looking to have fun with the day and have fun with each other. I blend a documentary style with a cinematic style. I remain in the background as much as I can without being in the couple’s face. I try and keep things feeling authentic.
Bustld: Why do your clients hire you?
Andrew: I am reasonably priced. I’m affordable but also very high quality. Throughout my career I’ve been able to perfect video and audio quality. I’m a fun and energetic person.
Bustld: What is the best part of being a videographer?
Andrew: I like it because I am capturing someone’s special day. A photographer sometimes has to wrangle while a videographer can be a little more laidback. I’m capturing authentic, beautiful moments. Video can bring emotions to life. For example, you can see the evolution of a groom’s face when coming down the aisle.
Bustld: What's your favorite moment on wedding day?
Andrew: I like the post-ceremony picture sessions. Once the ceremony is done, there is a relief of anxiety and tension; people are more relaxed. The dancing portion of the reception is always a fun part of the day.
Bustld: How long have you been in business? What is your business back story? Why weddings?
Andrew: When I was younger, people at my church wanted me to do some freelance videos. It was a fun thing to do and I’ve been at it ever since. The actual company was started in 2008 by someone else and I started helping out in 2011 as an assistant. As of 2017, I took over and started doing it solo.
