“Our customer service sets us apart,” said Kelli Albro, catering director at Catering by Design. “ From the beginning, we return phone calls quickly and focus on attention to detail. Our team feels like a family and we work really hard to do a good job.” 

 

The company’s menus draw from years of experience and feature a diverse range of cuisines ranging from Italian to Southern. From family style to buffets, stations to plated, the company does it all. 

 

“We don’t have one particular style of food,” said Kelli. “We definitely do tend to push our all-inclusive menus because it makes it so much easier for our couples. The pricing includes staff, china, bartenders, glassware and flatware so you don’t feel nickle and dimed to death.”

 

The Catering by Design staff works closely with each couple to understand their vision before developing a menu that works within their budget. 

 

“Our clients want delicious food and amazing staff on a good budget,” said Kelli. “And we make that happen.”

“I think our reviews speak for themselves. Catering by Design’s staff has been known to walk a mother of the groom to her car after she got a little tipsy or completely change the event set up at the last minute when it suddenly rains. No matter the obstacle, their team goes the extra mile to make it happen.

 

“I love when people come back in after the wedding to thank us,” said Kelli. “We love to hear that our couples feel cared for during their wedding.”

 

Catering by Design started as a little restaurant doing catering and it’s reputation grew so quickly that they shut down the restaurant and focused on catering. 

 

“To be a part of somebody’s wedding is a big deal, especially to be a part of the food experience because people always make amazing memories around good food like ours,” said Kelli. 

 

Kelli’s mom worked for the company as one of their lunch ladies at a private school. Seven years ago, the company asked if Kelli, who has a background in corporate customer service, wanted to help with marketing. When her kids had left home, a former catering director left and she jumped in. 

 

“My right hand, Mendy, came on board to help me four years ago and never left. We raised our kids in the area and have been here almost our whole lives,” said Kelli. “It wouldn’t be something we would do if we didn’t believe in it. We give that personal touch because we are homegrown.”

 

And that’s true of everyone in the company.

 

“I don’t know how but almost everybody who works here has been here a very long time. Almost our entire kitchen staff has been here for 15 years or more. We care as much about our customers as we do about each other. We care about the company a great deal and doing the right thing for our customer,” she said.
