Getting to feel all the feelings is what drives Skyler Brown of Adornment Photo

“I love being an intimate part of someone’s lives and getting to capture it. From watching someone’s father take them down the aisle to crying with the couple when someone gives a great speech,”she said. “They deserve to see their wedding the way we are seeing it. It’s hard to remember after the wedding everything that goes on, but the photos will always be there to tell the story.”

It’s that passion that couples are instantly attracted to when they meet Skyler and her partner/husband, Jeremy.

“We treat every wedding like it’s our only wedding. We are super passionate about what we do, and I think that shows in our work,”said Skyler. “We care about every wedding because it may be their only wedding. We want something special for them to look back on weeks, months and years later.”

Their clients tend to be couples who love each other like it’s their job.

“We thrive off infectious love. We want that to be the main focus of the day because at the end of the day, it’s all about their love story.”

Telling that love story in a unique way sets this husband-wife duo apart.

“We are very transparent with our couples. We listen to what they say is important to them and create inspiration to cater to their stories,”explained Skyler. “If they love hiking, then we will climb a mountain for their engagement story. We want to create something that really speaks to them.”

It should come as no surprise that Adornment Photo’s photography style is very clean, true-to-life and candid.

“It’s all about the experience and laughing in the moment for us so our pictures are never posed, structured or stuffy. Instead they are really simple and unfussy,”she said.

Skyler and Jeremy, who always shoot together, started the business a little over two years ago after she found herself falling more in love with photographing people instead of products.

“I worked as a commercial photographer for six years photographing food for Krispy Kreme. I turned that passion into people and decided to branch out to weddings,”she said.

In addition to the people, she simply loves love.

“To us, there is just nothing better than capturing someone in the happiest day. Everyone is there and coming together to celebrate. Nothing else matters. It’s just about the couple and we love that,”she explained.

And while she loves “the whole thing”when it comes to wedding day, her favorite moment is definitely as everyone is getting ready.

“My favorite part of the day is bouncing between the couple’s rooms while they are getting ready,”she said. “It doesn’t matter how long they’ve been together. Everyone is nervous and excited, and the energy is really great.”

And capturing that energy is something Skyler can’t get enough of.
