It’s important to decide how you want your wedding day to feel. By that, we mean do you want something formal or more relaxed? Are you going for intimate or something bigger? Aside from the design and how it looks, what’s the overall vibe?
So, how do you decide vibe? We asked Bustld’s very own Marketing and Events Manager and Something Perfect’s Lead Planner, Lauren Gomez.
Start by asking yourself these questions to understand what your likes are.
- What do you like to do as a couple?
- What’s your ideal night look like?
- What’s your favorite vacation spot and why?
- Where do you like to spend the weekends?
“Ask questions like that and then kind of translate the answers over to how you want your wedding day to feel,” said Lauren. “Your wedding day is a big day, a very important day, obviously, but it's still a day where you're together doing something together and you want to be able to enjoy that.”
If you said you like to stay in and your favorite vacation spot is the beach so you can relax, then your vibe is probably more low key and intimate. On the contrary, if you like to go out to the newest restaurant opening and spend the weekends going out with friends, you might want a bigger, more posh party.
There are a few elements that contribute to your overall vibe.
- Guest Count
- Style
- Venue
- Kids vs No Kids
- Budget
For example, a formal, black-tie affair may be harder to achieve with a smaller budget or a modern vision may lend itself less to a rustic barn. Not everything has to line up perfectly but it’s something to keep in mind.
