There are a million and two things to pay attention to on the day of your wedding… but that doesn’t mean you should let the wedding details slip through the cracks. When it comes to what’s important in your wedding, nothing beats standing up there and promising your life to the person you love, but there’s no denying the details are important too. What’s the big deal with paying attention to the little things? The truth is, it makes a difference in more ways than one.
Wedding Details Make It Personal
The finer points of your decor and design options are the pieces that make your wedding stand out from every other wedding. Think about it, venues book so many of their weekends so if the couples weren’t bringing in the details, everything would look the same. Beyond just making your venue shine, the details are your chance to showcase the things that make you and your partner the great couple that you are. From photos to unique pieces of decor to entire themes that relate to your love story, showcasing that story is all in your detailed decisions.
Connect with Your Guests
When you and your partner shine through at your wedding, your guests will feel more at home. Let’s be honest…. weddings can have a couple bumpy moments; one of the more notable is the blending of two families and two sets of friends. Some people will know your story better while others will know your spouse-to-be’s story best of all. The lack of knowing one side or the other won’t break down the day but putting extra effort into the personal touches that set your big day apart is an added opportunity to connect with your guests on a deeper level. You can tell your love story in fun and inventive ways that help your guests understand it better. Some couples get creative with their party favors while others put together welcome bags for out-of-town guests. Sometimes it’s in the centerpieces, or how you decorate the sweetheart table. The options are endless, but your wedding day is full of opportunities to bring everyone even closer together.
Publishing Potential
This last one may not be on every couple’s agenda, and that’s completely fine, but I’ve had many couples over the years want a fair shot at getting photos from their wedding published! Getting published, unfortunately, just isn’t possible without a serious thing for the detail-oriented aspects of your wedding. Blogs look for unique, inventive themes with special touches that haven’t been done countless times before. They also look for all the little, often overlooked things like invitations, place settings, boutonnieres, escort card tables (arranged alphabetically!!!), shoes, jewels and bouquets. All those things factor in, so paying attention to details is a huge leg up if you want to see your wedding making its rounds on the web.
Those are just a few of the reasons to help you understand why the details matter for your big day, but I’ll leave you with one more: When you look back on the photos from your wedding, the detail photos are the brushstrokes that help paint the full picture of the day in your mind. That, my friends, is priceless.
