Brooke + Dusty |
Greenery isn’t going anywhere! It may have been the Pantone color of the year for 2017 but the trend is still just as popular in 2018. And when you live in the mountains, it makes sense you would be inspired by the natural greenery of your hometown. A team of vendors teamed up to create a stunning styled wedding that was inspired by the natural green elements found in the mountains just west of Asheville.
First step was finding the right venue – Asheville Barn Weddings (check!) along with a phenomenal photographer, Ashley Ricci. Nestled in the Blue Ridge, the venue on Walnut Ridge Farm was once home to a goat dairy; today it features a pick-your-own blueberry field in the North pasture and extensive hiking trails. The property is surrounded by lush greenery from rolling hills to towering trees that provided a simple yet romantic backdrop.
The vision was for an intimate yet elegant mountain wedding for the couple that loves natural elements with a timeless flair. The team used greenery (of course!) paired with muted pinks and soft whites to set the tone. They used a real-life couple, Brooke and Dusty, who will say “I do” this year which made the moments extra special.
The bride wore a strapless A-line gown with ruching details and a lace skirt that was nothing short of spectacular. Her dress was accentuated by the stunning bouquet that featured silver dollar eucalyptus paired with blush roses, blush ranunculus and white freesia. Her hair was worn tucked up with loose curls and a beautiful braid that was accented with myrtle to tie together the shoot. Simple pearl jewelry completed the look.
The groom looked handsome in a fitted slate gray suit paired with a charcoal tie. His boutonniere added a pop of color with a blush spray rose finished with a bells of Ireland.
The team imagined a ceremony set inside the quaint wooden chapel with long benches and market lights. Afterward, the couple made their way outside for photos beneath the beautiful landscape of the farm. The couple would dine under the rustic covered porch on a handmade oak table carved by the venue’s owner himself. The table was draped in a greenery runner with silver eucalyptus, verdant leaves and cherry blossom branches. Pops of blush spray roses added color to the table. Each diner’s seat was adorned with gold flatware, a rustic-style charger, a gold speckled plate and a crisp white napkin. A deep green verdant leaf topped each plate to finish the look. Taper candles in gold geometric stands added a romantic touch to the table while the crossback chairs added a touch of rustic elegance.
After dinner, the couple enjoyed a glass of champagne while cutting in to their beautiful two-tiered cake by Verbena Cakes and Catering that set atop a tree stump stand. The peanut butter and jelly flavored cake featured white buttercream with horizontal texture on the first layer and naked cake inspired icing on the top layer. Greenery, blush roses and geometric shapes were used on the table to tie the romantic greenery shoot together with this final touch.
