On your tablescape, pick one piece to up the ante. Consider accenting your table with a really cool charger or a unique textured napkin. Maybe you want to keep it simple with no charger and a solid color napkin and then make a statement with gold silverware or a really cool vintage dinner plate.
At the bar, if glassware is not included go with the basics, a low ball or goblet glass for mixed drinks and non-alcoholic drinks, and a wine glass for well, wine (duh). If you are having champagne it’s always nice to add champagne glasses to your rentals. If you want to add in a statement piece for the glassware try a cool colored glass to match your wedding colors, go with stemless wine glasses or, if you are having a specialty cocktail, serve it in a specialty glass like a copper mug or Collins glass.
You can add a whole lot of personality with just oneor two pieces. Stop by your local rental showroom to play with different options and decide where you want to invest to make the biggest impact.
Make sure you allot enough time, bring your planner if you have one and meet with the stylist at the rental company so they can help you personalize and make sure that it's going to match your space, your aesthetic, what you're going for overall for the wedding, and of course, your budget.
Still think buying these items would save you money? Consider the logistics of who will bring, set up and breakdown the items. After the wedding, who will clean them and store them? It may not be worth it after all!
