Jenna + Jack | Sep 23, 2017
Jenna and Jack’s love story goes all the way back to their high school days of attending the local all-girls and all-boys Catholic schools. While they knew of each other, they didn’t start dating until their freshman year of college when they both ended up attending Northwood University. As fate would have it, Jack was the very first person Jenna saw on campus and it was love at first sight!
When it came time to make things ultra official, Jack had the dream proposal planned. While on a trip to Paris, Jenna had planned for a photographer to document their trip but little did she know, Jack had been in talks with the same photographer! They met up with the photographer the second morning of their trip and enjoyed the day taking photos while doing "Parisian things" like enjoying an espresso in a café and smelling the flowers. They eventually ended up in a park right below the Eiffel Tower where Jack got down on one knee and proposed!
For their wedding, Jenna and Jack wanted their style, personality, and love to completely shine through and wanted each guest to feel that their attendance was appreciated. Jenna and Jack wanted their day to be truly “them” so every single detail of their wedding had a special meaning behind it. They envisioned a romantic look for their fall wedding so they chose a neutral color scheme and incorporated lots of greenery, candles and hand-lettered wooden signage.
They had a heartfelt church ceremony and one of the most anticipated and special moments of the day was when Jenna came down the aisle and she and Jack saw each other for the first time. They didn’t do a first look so that moment is one they’ll both cherish forever.
Their gorgeous reception at the Mint Museum Uptown was filled with more than 100 framed photos of family, friends and guests in attendance to show the journey of their love and how each person played a role in their story. They also chose their menu based on important aspects of their lives and it was a delicious mix of southern, French, and "Detroit" staples. Something Classic did an amazing job of including French hors d'oeuvres for their engagement story; southern options to represent Jenna and Jack’s lives in Charlotte; and classic Detroit food to represent where they grew up. They also had donut cakes and mini donuts for dessert! The two even had a fun photo booth with Smile Laugh Share Photo Booths, making sure everyone was entertained! Something Perfect truly handled all the details and Jenna and Jack’s entire wedding week was perfection, from a “Welcome to Charlotte!” meet-and-greet for out-of-town guests to a post-wedding Sunday brunch. Their wedding was everything they could have dreamed of and was the most beautiful representation of their story and their love!
Congratulations, Jenna and Jack!
