Bright June Wedding at an Eclectic Farm with a Southern Twist

Kaitlyn Sawyer + Alex Butler | Jun 17, 2017

Tiffany Blue and Coral Pink-Filled Day at L’Abri at Linwood near Winston-Salem, NC

Kaitlyn and Alex’s June wedding was as beautiful as the love they share with each other. Their perfect day took place at L’Abri at Linwood, a gorgeous venue meaning “the shelter” in French. Located right outside of Winston-Salem, the venue’s sprawling pastures, horse stables, and surrounding woodlands set a dreamy romantic tone for the day that fit in perfectly with the simple, rustic but elegant theme.

Kaitlyn and her ladies started the exciting day with hair and makeup and lots of laughs. Once everyone was beautified, the girls popped some bubbly in their matching floral robes. Kaitlyn’s bridesmaids then slipped into their vibrant Tiffany blue dresses and gushed over the beautiful bride. Kaitlyn’s fitted lace gown with a sweetheart neckline and delicate details looked like it was made for her.

Bright bouquets in shades of pinks, peaches and summery oranges added the perfect pop of color and looked amazing with the contrasting Tiffany blue.

The outdoor ceremony took place under lush green trees on a lawn overlooking a serene pond with a gorgeous fountain. A simple but oh-so-pretty wooden arbor built by Kaitlyn’s dad and Alex served as the backdrop and was dressed in breezy white drapery tied back with burlap bows. Two floral arrangements of pink peonies and blue and white hydrangeas graced the sides of the arbor and a wooden “B” for Butler hung proudly in the center. Kaitlyn loved that two of the most special men in her life built the arbor and to her, it was a symbol of both families coming together as one. Alex couldn’t contain his emotion when he saw his gorgeous bride coming down the aisle and it was obvious that Kaitlyn completely took his breath away! The couple personalized their ceremony with the tying of a unity rope to symbolize the joining of their relationship.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their bridal party took time to capture the moment with photos. Like most summer weddings, the weather is always something to consider and although summer thunderstorms were in the forecast, the dark clouds cleared just in time and the sun shone through for Kaitlyn and Alex’s bride and groom photos.

They then headed off to the reception which took place in a fabulous open-air barn on the property. Twinkling strings of market lights highlighted the rustic wood elements and added a touch of whimsy to the summer night. Burlap runners dressed the tables and were decorated with a cedar slab and either a rustic white lantern or floral arrangements in a blue mason jar.

A sparkling chandelier drew all eyes to the dessert table which was built from on old barn door on whiskey barrels. It featured an industrial-chic metal “B” and several tiers of cupcakes on rustic tree trunk rounds to match the color scheme.

The day was perfect and full of many tenderhearted moments, one of the most special being when Alex emotionally read a letter from his great-grandmother. He and Kaitlyn were so thrilled that she could be there! It was clear that Kaitlyn and Alex are loved by so many and guests. They had the best time breaking it down on the dance floor with their loved ones before being sent off into the night to start their life as husband and wife!

Congratulations, Kaitlyn and Alex!
