Sydney Fisher + Dalton Brandon | May 26, 2018
Sydney and Dalton first met in high school, but it wasn’t until 2014 when their paths would cross again. Dalton posted a video on Instagram of an Avett Brothers concert that he was attending with a mutual friend. Being a huge Avett Brothers fan herself, Sydney “liked” the video and it wasn’t long before Dalton had convinced their mutual friend to share Sydney’s number. Soon after, they ended up on a double-date in NoDa. A month later, Dalton took Sydney to see the Christmas lights in McAdenville and while they were there, gifted her an unwrapped picture frame with a note asking her to be his girlfriend!
Two years later on Christmas Day (Sydney’s favorite holiday), she and Dalton were gathered with her family in the living room opening presents. Dalton had already told her that she was getting an Apple Watch for Christmas, but little did she know, that wasn’t all she was getting! After everyone else had finished, Sydney’s sister said, “There’s one more!” and handed her a gift from Dalton. First, she pulled out a picture frame with a photo of them in New York City from the previous Christmas. Next, she pulled out two more pictures of her and Dalton with lyrics from a song they both love, “We've been together for a while now and everyday seems new. You know it when you know it, and I always knew with you." When she looked up, Dalton was down on one knee with the ring of her dreams asking her to marry him!
Sydney and Dalton’s May wedding at The Farmstead was the epitome of rustic elegance. The beautiful venue outside of Charlotte, North Carolina, was everything they could have dreamed of. Shades of navy and mauve added an elegant, romantic softness to the rustic setting. Sydney’s favorite ladies looked amazing in their flowing mauve gowns and she was glowing in her gorgeous low-cut lace gown with delicate detailing. The barn reception was filled with soft florals, candlelit lanterns and touches of sparkle. Bite-sized desserts were the perfect sweet treat while personalized koozies added to the fun of the day.
For Sydney and Dalton, the most special part of the day was the amount of love that filled the barn and all the sweet moments that were captured by Cassie Leigh Photography. As they made the rounds to talk to their guests, they were overwhelmed and humbled by the love, excitement, and support shown from all the loved ones that had traveled from near and far to celebrate their special day. After dancing the night away, Sydney and Dalton headed off for their Cabo San Lucas honeymoon via a sparkler exit and cheers! Both she and Dalton agree that when it comes to advice for other engaged couples, “Make sure you remember to let loose and enjoy the day that you planned. Grab a drink and hit the dancefloor with your friends!
Congratulations, Sydney and Dalton!
