We are a husband and wife duo who live to capture the lives and loves of our clients. Based in Raleigh, NC and traveling the world telling people's stories one click at a time. We met and fell in love with each other on Nantucket- an island just off Cape Cod where on a whim Jocelyn decided to apply for a job managing a luxury B&B without ever having stepped foot on the small strip of land. Ryan, the manager at the time and doing photography part time, hired her and the rest, they say, is history. We were married in Tom Nevers on Nantucket just a little over a month before we decided to pack up our belongings and head south to start a full time photography business and, as it were, a family. We operated under the name Ryan Midgett Photography, Ryan’s original business name from Nantucket, until we finally agreed on a new brand that encompassed both our personalities and style. Thus, Jocelyn & Ryan Photography was born. It is simple, classic and genuine. Just two people who love each other and what they do and want to share that with the world.  When it comes to wedding photography, it is important to us to create a stress-free, fun relationship with our clients that allows us to make the process as smooth and enjoyable as we can because, after all, it is all about celebrating love in the end! One of the things we really work with our clients on is setting up a timeline for their day and working hand in hand with each vendor to ensure that the couple's dream for their day becomes a effortless reality for them. We try to anticipate all of our client's needs and questions ahead of time and make ourselves available to them throughout the process to ensure that on the day of their wedding they can concentrate on enjoying every moment instead of worrying about the next! Our style is best best described as candid, bright and airy with a touch of drama and romance, but most importantly our goal is to capture the authenticity of our couples and their love for each other. Preserving your memories are important to us, and we love every minute of it!In addition to photography, our other great love is our daughter, Addison, and son, Cameron, who light up our life in ways we could never have imagined! We love the outdoors, fishing, spending summers at Jordan Lake or the coast, and enjoying the brilliant colors of fall in the mountains near Asheville. We are lucky enough that our job takes us to different corners of the earth allowing us to explore new places, challenge and play with our craft, and capture the one element that binds us all together in this life: love.Every couple, every family, every person has a story.
