The theme of this elopement styled shoot was to show that just because you’re not having a traditional wedding doesn’t mean you can’t still truly have your cake and eat it too! When it comes to eloping, most have the idea that it needs to be minimal and downplayed, otherwise why not just do a full-on wedding? Posh Moments Photography wanted to change the approach to that idea by showing an edgy bride being as formal as she pleased! For this shoot, the talented creative team came together and brought to life the clashing idea of black and navy blue as a color scheme. Everyone knows these two colors together have traditionally been considered a faux pas but when done right and with accent colors of green and navy, this shoot goes to show they are anything but faux pas! They’re the perfect mix of moody yet romantic and when paired with gorgeous greenery in a fabulous garden, it doesn’t get much better. A gorgeous invitation suite by Cut Above Stationery set the tone for the shoot with its romantic calligraphy and raw-edged style. The bride and groom were the portrait of do-as-you-please elopement style, she in an amazing crop-top gown with tassel earrings and mink wrap, he in suspenders with contrasting details that matched the accents of her bouquet. The bride’s lush bouquet of greenery and richly colored florals paired perfectly with the navy and black color scheme and added a pop of color to the dramatic look. Like any wedding, an elopement still calls for cake and the one for this shoot was truly fabulous with its textured frosting, greenery and floral accents, and dripping navy detail. Handwritten vows on birch tree paper were the perfect way to showcase the special words of marriage and would be so romantic for such an intimate affair. This entire shoot was amazing and so different and Posh Moments Photography couldn’t have said it better when it comes to elopements: “There are no rules to when it comes to love… whether you choose to elope in a public park or on top of a scenic mountain, make bold choices, clash a little, strike a chord -- it's your day!”
