Chelsea Gregory + Andrew Robinson | Sep 23, 2017
A mutual friend at Gardner-Webb University introduced Chelsea and Andrew who started off as friends. After graduation, their lives took them separate ways– Chelsea stayed in Charlotte and Andrew headed to Florida to pursue his aviation career. A few years later, the two reconnected in Orlando, Florida when Chelsea took a spontaneous Memorial Day weekend trip with one of her best friends. Chelsea invited Andrew to join them at Universal Studios and they spent the whole day catching up and having fun (Chelsea’s friend even called it that day and said the two would get married!).
After dating for a while, Andrew knew it was time to take the next step. On Chelsea’s dad’s birthday, Andrew planned for Chelsea to go to the barn where her late horse had been kept. Knowing her horse had been a significant part of her life, Andrew placed rose petals inside the barn leading to her horse’s old stall. Chelsea thought Andrew was away on a work trip so she was completely surprised to find him at the end of the rose trail asking her to marry him!
When it came time to start planning their wedding, Chelsea and Andrew’s vision was inspired by their venue, The Graylyn Estate. Located in Winston-Salem, the estate’s enchanting grounds and castle-like design completely set the tone for the fairytale day that Chelsea had always dreamt of. Since the estate looks like a castle, they a royalty theme which was complete from the rich purple color scheme to naming guest tables after famous castles all brought together perfectly by We Tie the Knots. All of their stationary, from the invitations to the menus, were adorned with a customized crest designed to incorporate both of their families’ heritage. Along with the castle theme, since Andrew is a pilot, they also incorporated his love of flying and airplanes into their day and also included Chelsea’s love of horses.
Chelsea’s wedding day look was inspired by Juliet from William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet and she truly looked like a princess in her romantic off-shoulder gown with its fitted, sparkly bodice and flowing skirt. After a gorgeous outdoor ceremony, the newlyweds were whisked away in a horse drawn carriage for some sweet photos prior to their fabulous reception, complete with photobooth fun by ZimZoom Photobooth. The entire day was planned to perfection by We Tie the Knots and not a single detail was left out. Chelsea and Andrew had the best time dancing the night away with their fellow “Kings and Queens” in a celebration truly fit for royalty!
Congratulations, Chelsea and Andrew!
