A chance encounter at a 90’s bar on St. Patrick’s Day led Caleb to meet Jamie’s brother who suggested the two would be a great pair. Jamie’s brother passed along Jamie’s number and, after some in-depth Facebook stalking, Caleb decided to take the leap and texted Jamie. Jamie obliged and they set up a day, time and place to meet each other in person. A few weeks later, they had their first date in downtown Raleigh and it was a success! After graduation, Caleb moved to New York City to pursue a public relations career while Jamie stayed in North Carolina to teach. They quickly realized that they couldn’t stand being apart and after almost a year and a half, Caleb moved back south. And it was meant to be as two years later, they got engaged right before Christmas! The proposal was a huge surprise and happened while Jamie and Caleb were having a “mini” Christmas at their home before going to spend time with family for the holidays. After exchanging gifts, Caleb opened up his last present which was a new coat from Jamie. He tried it on and felt something in the pocket – a ring! It was so special to share the perfect moment together and they had the best time celebrating with family and friends later that afternoon!

Caleb and Jamie had the sweetest engagement session on a perfect fall day on the gorgeous campus of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. They wandered around Chapel Hill, playing in the fall leaves and stealing sweet kisses in front of iconic Chapel Hill landmarks before settling in at their favorite wine bar. 

When asked about their vision for their upcoming wedding, Caleb shared, “We want our wedding to be more of a celebration, less of a typical wedding. We aren't holding ourselves at all to the traditional customs and pressures of a heterosexual wedding but like with any wedding, we get to make it what we want!” Caleb and Jamie love food experiences and have decided to have their wedding at Tandem, a restaurant in Carrboro, where their guests will be able to enjoy unique cuisine in a beautiful, loft-like space. The two are so excited to get married this October and can’t wait to party the night away with their favorite people!
