Anna Stagg + Clay Ditty | Sep 23, 2017
Anna and Clay met in April 2011 while playing in a recreational kickball league in Chapel Hill, NC. Anna was completing her first year of a PhD program at UNC and Clay was finishing his graduate program at Duke. Despite their rival university affiliations, the two really hit it off and started dating. Academic and professional opportunities moved the couple to Atlanta and a year after moving the two took a much-needed vacation to Bald Head Island. On the final day of their trip, they got caught in a late afternoon rainstorm on the beach. They were completely drenched, but Clay insisted that they watch the sunset. As they sat in a swing overlooking the marina watching the sunset, bundled in towels, Clay proposed
For their wedding, captured by Krstyal Kast Photography, Anna and Clay wanted an intimate feel with a casually elegant and romantic look. Working with Kast Events & Company, they chose a color palette of blush, coral and marsala tones with lots of greenery. Eye-catching chandeliers were outfitted with greenery boughs, creating a dramatic yet natural look.
The couple chose to have a family-style dinner at The Parlour at Manns Chapel, enabling everyone to relax and enjoy each other’s company in an intimate setting while enjoying delicious food by Beau Catering. Their funfetti cake and ice cream truck were the perfect fun ending to the meal!
The groom’s favorite moment of the day? “Everything was amazing, so it is hard to pick just one favorite moment but I would have to say that sitting down to dinner next to my bride after the ceremony and first dance was a highlight. We finally had a moment to just relax and enjoy being together as husband and wife, surrounded by friends and family, and just take it all in. We realized how incredibly lucky we are.”
After dinner, Bunn DJ Company had everyone on their feet, dancing the night away, celebrating the happy newlyweds.
Congratulations, Anna and Clay!
