Sleek and stylish, black and gold New Year’s Eve intimate wedding inspiration with a modern and luxurious feel at Lula Drake Pastor’s Study in Columbia, South Carolina
When it comes to New Year’s Eve, we think glamour and luxury, and this New Year’s Eve elopement styled shoot delivers just that. The gold, blue and black color palette mixed with the sleek and modern décor worked together to provide some dreamy inspiration.
“We wanted to provide a unique twist on the tradition of an ‘All White Party,’ so we settled on the idea of an ‘All Black Party,” said the shoot’s photographer. “Our décor included elements of gold and navy throughout the shoot to elevate our theme of an ‘All Black Party’ to vibe with the feeling of luxury and opulence that New Year’s Eve provides.”
From the very beginning, the invitation suite set the tone for a feeling of glamour. The black envelope was lined with gold and silver foil and was sealed with a gold stamp. Pieces of the invitation and envelope were highlighted in gold paint for an extra touch.
The gold continued into all aspects of wedding day, even including the grooms’ looks. Each groom wore a different classy and stylish tux. One was an all-black look with a velvet jacket and blue bowtie, while the other look was black pants paired with a grey jacket that had one black arm and a black lapel. Thanks to their boutonnieres, each look had a pop of gold to it.
Before heading inside to the space, the grooms took advantage of the super sleek ceramic tile wall outside. The wall matched their modern look perfectly.
Inside, there was square table set for guests. It was draped with a black linen and had the most amazing gold crisscross back square chairs. In the center of the table was a tall wired vase holding an oversized arrangement with a unique look. There were a few white blooms surrounded by greenery and accented with gold. There were gold candlesticks, gold berries and gold succulents mixed in. Surrounding the arrangement on the table were some more white blooms and gold succulents and terrariums for décor.
Each place setting was set with a trio of plates. The bottom two plates were matching gold rimmed scalloped plates in two different sizes. Sitting on top was a modernly decorated gold plate wrapped with a blue napkin. The gold silverware was really the icing on top of the cake for the look.
With this styled shoot, we even got a glimpse into what guests would be eating on their last glamorous night before the new year. First, there were starters served on black and gold trays. Of course, a luxury three-course meal for dinner was really the only choice for this upscale celebration.
To round out the three-course meal there was not just wedding cake, but cupcakes also, and of course, both were gold! The single-tiered, extra tall rectangular shaped cake was all black with a gold foil front. It sat on top of an acrylic bottomed, gold topped stand and was topped with a very modern looking white and gold topper. The whole thing sat on top of a gold mirrored table.
Next to the cake were also two trays of cupcakes. The cupcakes were in gold liners and topped with gold flakes for that extra touch of glitz. Two gold rimmed champagne glasses and an all-black champagne bottle rounded out the cake table look perfectly.
The grooms broke into the bottle of champagne and took a seat in the little sitting nook that had the most amazing chairs. The gold metal chairs had a bright blue cushion and sat beneath a gold crystal beaded chandelier. The exposed brick and gold wall gave a perfect backdrop for the whole look.
After enjoying a drink inside, the couple headed outside to the mobile champagne bar, because you can never have too much champagne – especially if it’s your wedding day! The grooms cheers-ed to their new marriage and the perfectly styled way they celebrated the day!
