A Mix of Color and Vintage for a Whole Lot of Boho Vibes

Boho Inspired Styled Shoot Full of Color and Vintage Furniture at Separk Mansion near Charlotte, North Carolina

When an already gorgeous venue adds a new gorgeous event lawn, there’s no doubt that a styled shoot is a must! This boho inspired styled shoot took place at Separk Mansion just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. The shoot was inspired by the venue’s new lush green lawn space, perfect for a wedding ceremony.

A pampas grass ring took center stage on the lawn as the focal point for the ceremony site. This was the main design inspiration for the bohemian aesthetic. Between that, the beautiful colors, the lush florals and the vintage furniture, we are head over heels in love with this shoot!

“We shot this in early summer and wanted beautiful spring pastels and rich colors to contrast against the vibrant green lawn,” said the venue’s coordinator. “Colorful vintage furniture rentals and lush florals featuring protea, garden roses and peonies completed the look.”

Recently married real life couple Emily and Zach were the perfect models for this shoot. They were married at Separk Mansion in late 2017, but it unfortunately rained, and they weren't able to get many outdoor photos. Can you imagine a better redo than this?!

Zach looked awfully sharp in his blue suit with a maroon bow tie and suspenders. Emily wore a loose and flowy spaghetti strap gown with the most amazing beading. She wore drop tassel earrings that perfectly completed her look. She started with her hair down, with big loose curls and slightly pinned back with two large flowers. Later, her hair was loosely pulled back and a different, bigger flower cluster was added.

The flowers in the bride’s hair matched the color palette and flower types found in her oversized bridal bouquet. There was so much height and texture in this bouquet; it was what boho floral dreams are made of. Between the greenery, roses, peonies and the large king protea in all different shades of pinks and peaches it was beautiful. The bouquet was tied off with several flowing ribbons in complementing colors.

Two adorable flower girls, complete with matching peony flower crowns and pins were the perfect addition to their "wedding party.”

Peonies were continually used throughout the décor and the reception table, in addition to the spring pastel color palette and other boho inspired florals.

A farm table was perfectly paired with a deep violet velvet tufted settee to create the most picturesque place to share a first meal together as husband and wife. The table was decked out with a macramé table runner, floral centerpieces cascading with greenery, large peonies and pampas grass. An eclectic mix of candle holders held different colored taper candles.

The table was set with a white scalloped dinner plate and a clear blush colored glass salad plate. The look was topped off with a small vintage china bread plate with pinks and blues and golds to tie in the blue water glasses and gold-plated silverware.

The same look was carried through to the soft seating spot that featured a pastel blue velvet couch and two velvet side chairs. A mix of throw pillows pulled the whole look together. More candlestick holders and tapers lined the wooden coffee table and another macramé throw draped the table with a small vase of more flowers on top.

Looking at the food spread in these pictures, we almost forgot this was just a styled shoot! Another farm table was set with an assortment of fruit, meat and cheese, and bread and decorated with potted succulents, vases of blooms, loose king proteas and roses, and eucalyptus greenery all around. Large woven baskets were filled with greenery and gold wire candlestick holders held blue tapers.

And what’s a wedding without cocktails? The cocktail shelf in this shoot could not have been any cuter! The bright colored cocktails were served in an array of different glasses, some topped with a fresh sprig of thyme, some with a slice of a blood orange. Next to the display hung a macramé drink sign with large peonies woven into it.

The pampas grass ring was repurposed from the background to the stunning cake cart. The two-tier naked cake sat on a white pedestal cake stand and had the biggest peony in between the two tiers. A little bit of greenery lined the bottom tier for a simple but statement cake! The white vintage bar cart was used for the cake and was topped off with another small vase of blooms and free-floating peonies. We couldn’t think of a sweeter ending!
