Jean + John | Oct 20, 2018
Jean and John’s wedding day was everything they could have hoped for and more. It was full of laughter, so much love and tons of dancing. The day had a classic and traditional feel with the grey and blush color palette but took an elegant and modern twist with gold accents and some of the attire.
The bride spent the morning sipping champagne and relaxing in the company of her favorite ladies. She had her hair pulled back in a modern up-do and got dressed into the most amazing dress. The Pronovias gown had a boat neck and bejeweled cap sleeves. The bedazzle from the sleeves continued to the back of the dress that buttoned down the backside.
She accessorized with white satin tie up shoes that had a bejeweled heel; and we need a pair stat! Her teardrop diamond earrings matched the shoes and completed the look.
Once she was dressed, she grabbed her cascading bouquet full of white and blush florals along with greenery and headed to the grand staircase that was decked out in even more greenery with two clusters of white flowers at the bottom. At the bottom of the staircase were her bridesmaidswaiting to see her for the first time.
After that, the first looks kept on coming. First a sweet moment with her dad – who had the most amazing peacock feather bowtie, by the way – and then the grand reveal with John.
John stood in front of the venue’s greenery landscaping in his classic black tux and another amazing black and white feathered bow tie. He turned around and the look on both of their faces was priceless! Thanks to Emily Meeks Photography, they have amazing pictures to help them remember that moment forever.
The two spent some time beneath the Spanish moss filled trees reading notes from one another before they were joined by the rest of their bridal party for pictures. Eight of the ten bridesmaids wore the same simple grey long dress, while the other two wore mismatching blush dresses. It gave the mostly classic feel a modern touch. All the groomsmen wore the same black tux as John, but a simple black bow tie instead.
Everyone headed over to the chapel before the ceremony began. While Jean hid away, John greeted nearly every single guest as they entered through the oversized wooden doors that were accented with two hanging greenery bouquets.
Once the ceremony ended, everyone made their way over to the reception venue where they were greeted by similar hanging greenery bouquets. The ballroom at the reception set the glamorous and traditional tone with its large chandeliers and wooden floors. The room was set more casually, with no assigned tables and more casual spots for guests to gather around, like cocktail tables and lounge seating.
The few tables in the space were set with classic white linens and Chiavari chairs. There were small centerpieces of either bouquets of white flowers and greenery or greenery and candles. The cocktail tables were set with a blush linen and tied off with greenery.
There were two different guest books for guests to sign. A classic book for people to sign in and a more modern Polaroid camera guest book where guests could take their picture and tape it into a book for the couple to keep. There was even the prettiest greenery wall with a gold monogram on it that served as the photo backdrop!
After making their grand entrance into the reception as husband and wife, the party kicked off. The couple shared a first dance together, followed by dances with their parents and then barely left the dance floor all night. Unless it was to grab a piece of shrimp cocktail off the monogrammed ice sculpture!
The night ended with a duet performance to a “Moulin Rouge” medley by the couple, and then a sweet sparkler send off.
Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs.!
