Coral, pink and periwinkle, floral inspired styled shoot with secret garden vibes at Carolina Country Weddings & Events in Mt. Pleasant, North Carolina
Spring time is for beautiful florals, bright colors and butterflies fluttering in the breeze. This styled shoot inspired just that with lush flower arrangements, butterfly accents and pops of pink and coral that were perfectly contrasted with the periwinkle blue. Add in a dress to kill for and dessert to fight over and you don’t get much better than this!
“It was a dreamy dedication to spring, overflowing with luscious florals, incredible desserts, and complementing shades of living coral and periwinkle blue,” said the shoot’s photographer. “This romantic elopement inspired shoot had scores of fresh styles that made you fall in love with spring time.”
While it may have felt like spring time inside, you would have never known outside it was nearly monsoon-ing. Luckily, the venues white washed barn doors and walls inside provided the necessary crisp backdrop for bringing this look to life. It also didn’t hurt that the bride and groom were a real life couple and could help really bring a true element of love and romance to the shoot.
Once the bride was dressed, she grabbed her flowers and took a few stunning shots on her own before being joined by her groom. Her dress and her bouquet were a killer combination that really made the whole shoot feel like something special.
Her dress was a custom made gown by Meagan Kelly Designs with a unique 3D floral design accented with pearls and lace. Its thin straps made it feel dainty and girly while its low back felt daring and bold. The bride’s hair was done in loose curls and was halfway pulled back with braids. In the braids were a trio of blue butterflies to bring a real sense of spring to her look.
The butterfly hair accessories mixed with the bouquet really made it feel as if this was shot outside in a garden. The bouquet was full of oversized coral, peach, pink, blush and ivory blooms and surrounded by a sea of a greenery. It had just a few pops of periwinkle accents to soften things.
“With this shoot, we brought the outdoors in by filling the venue with brilliant pink and blush blooms, heaps of coral poppies, and perfect pops of periwinkle,” said the photographer. “The flower arrangements were immaculate and gave this styled session exactly what it needed.”
The bride was then joined by her groom who took a more casual approach to his look. He wore dress pants and a dress shirt with suspenders, no jacket. His unique bowtie had pop of coral florals in it to tie the whole look together.
The couple hopped from spot to spot, posing in front of the barn doors surrounded by what felt like a field of fresh, colorful flowers, posing with a vintage periwinkle blue chair that matched perfectly, and ultimately ending up at the table setup.
There was a rectangular table set in front of the barn doors draped with a blush linen. Whitewashed oval back chairs lined the table, three on each side. Three similar floral arrangements decorated the space with two on the floor on the ends of each table and one front and center in the middle on the table. Each arrangement was full of the same color pink and coral blooms and accenting periwinkle as the bridal bouquet. On each side of the arrangement on the table was a trio of gold candlestick holders holding a mixture of bright pink and crisp white taper candles.
At each seat was a duo of some of the most unique plates we have seen. The rounded square plates were a blush color and an almost acrylic material. They sat on top of a white linen napkin that lay off the table and next to white dipped gold silverware.
Then, it was time to move into the dessert set up. A rustic blush end table was set with one of the floral arrangements moved to sit at its feet. On top of the table was a white pedestal stand holding a two tier blue with gold dripping pained cake. Next to the cake were gold speckled blue macaroons to accompany it. Also, did we mention that the baker who provided these also happened to be the bride?! Talk about talent!
After all the details were captured, the flower arrangements were all collected and displayed together to create the most magical bed the bride surrounded herself with. The floral pattern on her dress complimented the natural flowers around her. Even her floral tattoos added an extra touch to the look. More butterflies joined the shot and all of our secret garden dreams came true.
