Photographing any wedding day is special, but when the photographer has known the bride since she was four years old, it’s even more special. When Madison asked Vanessa of Vanessa Ray Photography to capture her wedding day, Vanessa knew it would be special and Madison knew it would be the perfect choice. They were both right!
The outdoor ceremony and tented reception was something right out of a storybook. The whole day had an elegant and traditional southern feel to it filled with whimsical and garden touches along the way.
“Madison had a very specific vision for her day,” said Vanessa. “She wanted blush pinks and soft blues for the wedding day with flowers everywhere. She described her wedding day as enchanted, whimsical and elegant.”
Vanessa arrived on wedding day just as the girls were finishing up hair and makeup. Madison had a beautiful low do complete with bejeweled flower hair piece that left a trailing ribbon along her back. The soft pink lip was the perfect balance to the smoky eye.
As Madison changed into her deep cut sweetheart neckline thin strapped ballgown, her bridesmaids starred at her in awe. The dress was so simple but so perfect at the same time. It had button detailing down the back and Madison added some sparkle with her glitter Kate Spade Keds.
Meanwhile, outside, guests filled the chairs that were set on the front lawn of the venue’s mansion house. It screamed quintessential Southern with its white columns, double decker porch and paver walkway. Rose petals lined the walkway and two floral arrangements lined the sides of the front door to the house.
Standing at the front of the house was Ryan in a classic looking black suit with his groomsmen lined up next to him in matching suits. On the other side were the bridesmaids in matching dusty blue gowns, each holding a bouquet of blue and white hydrangeas and roses.
The moment came when Madison appeared at the end of the aisle and everyone rose to their feet. She carried the most beautiful cascading bouquet full of white, blush and blue flowers and lots of greenery. At the end of the aisle, she met Ryan and nothing else in the world mattered.
After the ceremony, guests headed for the tented reception. The space was set with round guest tables draped with light taupe linens and wooden chairs. At each place setting was a classic white dinner plate and blush napkin laying underneath. In the center of each table was a large hurricane glass filled with water and floating candles, surrounded with greenery.
The newlyweds made their grand entrance into the reception and kicked off the night with their first dance as husband and wife. They then took their seats at their sweetheart table, which had the prettiest linen, and enjoyed their first meal as a married couple.
After dinner, they headed inside for a quick minute to cut their cake. The two tier white cake had gold trim, dot detailing and a few floral clusters on each tier. But the best part was that it sat on top of a cupcake tower! Underneath the cake was three different tiers of a variety of cupcakes, each one looking just as delicious as the next.
Once the cake was cut, the couple headed back outside to the dance floor to play the shoe game, one of the moments they were looking forward to most! The game had everyone laughing and by the time it ended, everyone was ready to hit the dance floor!
While Madison changed into a simple and short blush dress with flutter sleeves, everyone lined up for the grand exit. As Madison and Ryan walked back down the same aisle they walked down for the ceremony, their friends and family lit the way with sparklers.
Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs.!
