Caroline + Jason | Jul 6, 2018
Jason and Caroline have the perfect “best friends turned more” love story. After meeting one another at just 14 years old, the couple soon became close friends. After four years of friendship, a mutual crush began to develop. Four years later and Caroline took her shot! On New Years Eve of that year, Caroline decided to make Jason her New Year’s kiss. Now, five more years later the couple is finally engaged. A love story nine (yes, nine!) years in the making!
They future bride and groom are the perfect complement to one another. After building such a solid foundation for their relationship, there is no doubt they are meant for one another.
“The fact that we have been best friends for so long really attests to our commitment to one another,” said Caroline. “Jason is the risk taker while I err on the side of caution, so we balance each other out. He is my rock and keeps me grounded while I push and motivate him to always try and do more. Our time together is well spent with lots of laughs and there's never a dull moment.”
It was only right that after nine years the proposal be perfect. And what can be more perfect than a snowy Central Park on nearly the same day, several years later, that they shared their first kiss! On December 30, 2018 Jason finally got down on one knee to ask his best friend to marry him.
The couple made a trip up to New York City with two of their best friends to celebrate the New Year. They all took a stroll through Central Park, taking pictures along the way.
“We arrived to this special place behind the bridge and I thought we were just taking another photo when I felt Jason begin to kneel,” explained Caroline. “At first I was mortified thinking he was playing a joke on me in the middle of Central Park. I started to mouth angrily through my teeth, ‘Get up! I don't find this funny!’ and then I saw the ring box. At that point I realized that it was finallyhappening.”
Of course, Caroline said “yes.” Aside from wanting to marry the love of her life, how could she say no to a beautiful cushion cut diamond with two pear shaped baguettes in a yellow gold setting?! They all promptly headed to The Aviary to celebrate with champagne.
The bride and groom to be are currently planning on having a destination wedding in Kauai, Hawaii at the Na 'Aina Kai Botanical Gardens. They decided to do a destination wedding because they love to travel and have new experiences together so what better way to tie the knot than to take a trip with their close family and friends!
Opposite of their engagement, the couple took engagement pictures on a beautifully sunny day. Wilmington, North Carolina provided a mix of southern and beachy looks. The beach shots are the perfect practice for their Hawaiian wedding!
Congratulations to the future Mr. and Mrs.!
