Allie Elbeery + Carson Coggins | Mar 4, 2017
Allie and Carson met while attending UNC Chapel Hill and like so many great romances, they met at a bar. The two exchanged numbers and Allie was surprised to find that she couldn’t stop thinking about that funny, cute guy and was giddy when he texted her the next day. The two became inseparable and after dating for three years, they both knew without a doubt that they were meant to be together forever – all that was left was to make it official! On the night of December 22, Carson told Allie that they had plans and she assumed it was a Christmas party she had forgotten about. Little did she know, those “plans” were actually a perfectly planned proposal! Carson blindfolded Allie and took her to an iconic landmark on UNC’s campus. There, she took off the blindfold to see Carson down on one knee with their dog, Dean, sitting beside him. Of course, Allie said “yes!” and the two celebrated with a bottle of champagne that Carson had stashed in a nearby azalea bush.
Allie and Carson wanted their wedding day to feel ethereal with a touch of boho whimsy. They wanted their wedding to be very “them” - from Carson’s father officiating to their doggie-child, Dean, ring-bearing to the UNC-Duke rivalry game playing at the reception.
One of Allie’s favorite moments of the day was when she was getting ready in the bridal suite and could see Carson and his groomsman taking pictures in the gardens below. Standing there, surrounded by her best friends, looking down at her soon-to-be husband was surreal and filled her with excitement and love. Their gorgeous wedding was filled with soft shades of pink and dusty blue and their barn reception looked magical with its rows of twinkling string lights and chandeliers. All of their guests had the best time and it was evident that there was so much love and happiness felt for the happy couple.
Congratulations, Allie and Carson!
