A Trip to the Tropics

Apr 18, 2019

Lush greenery paired with fresh pink, orange and yellow florals created a tropical styled shoot and modern setting at Meadows at Mossy Creek in Cleveland, Georgia.

Following what seemed like an endless winter in North Georgia, a whimsical and colorful styled shoot was the perfect setting for the area’s newest venue.

The all-white, modern and industrial Meadows at Mossy Creek is a gorgeous mountain venue that exudes elegance. Met with an abundance of lush greenery and fresh pink, orange and yellow florals, the set was nothing shy of a tropical paradise.

“We put together the best vendors and came up with a modern, tropical vibe that would make the Hawaiian Islands swoon!” the photographer said.

The bride was stunning in a form-fitting gown with a plunging neckline and intricate lace detailing. The thin strapped bodice had a floral lace design that fit right into the tropical theme. The high slit in the skirt showed off her perfectly simple white strappy sandals. Her dark curls were pinned back on one side, and she completed the minimalist look with a pair of delicate stud earrings.

Perfectly complimenting his bride, the groom wore a sleek grey suit with a grey tie and a boutonniere made from small fern leaves, bright pink hibiscus flowers and, our favorite touch, a tiny pineapple.

The space was truly brought to life by the florals, from the bride’s bouquet to the larger installations, and all in warm shades of pink, orange, yellow and red. Bundles of palm fronds, ferns and banana leaves were adorned with hibiscus, orchids and ginger for a whimsical arrangement.

“Most all of the colors of the tropics came from the florals,” the photographer said. “They were lush, bright and varied to have an endless amount of texture and color.”

At the entrance of the venue, a pink, white and gold balloon arch stretched across the building for a warm welcome. Inside, the ceremony space was perfectly set with palm fronds lining the aisle all the way to a gold hexagon arbor, standing in front of a stunning fern wall. There were two clusters of tropical florals accenting the arbor.

For her reception look, the bride changed into another, just as stunning, form-fitting dress. It had a similar bodice with sheer lace and a gorgeous floral pattern. Once she changed and walked into the reception space, it was truly like stepping inside of a Hawaiian paradise. Eyes were drawn toward the tall ceilings and chandeliers hanging overhead, while long farm tables and more tropical floral arrangements complimented the space, rounded out by the most magical view.

“The venue has rolling hills with a stunning view and a lush seating area which we setup with lavish lounge seating for a very ‘Hawaiian evening’ feel,” the photographer said.

The tablescape was beautifully designed and well-suited for an island princess. Each table was adorned with gold votive candles, coconut shells, tall floral centerpieces, and smaller arrangements in white fluted vases of palms, banana leaves, monstera leaves, yellow proteas and pink ginger.

At every place setting was the most colorful, detailed display of decorative plateware. White dinner plates, coral textured chargers, gold brushed flatware, vintage green goblets and gold-rimmed glassware added the most gorgeous, whimsical touch. Palm patterned napkins were held with woven, white rope napkin rings and instead of classic place cards, banana leaves were personalized with the most beautiful calligraphy.

At the dessert table, four individual cakes sat on white ceramic stands showing off the tastiest details. Inspired by refreshing piña coladas, each had fresh shaved coconut for texture and was adorned with tiny pineapples, baby key limes, yellow proteas and fern leaves. There were also mini key lime cupcakes and drink sparklers for the craft cocktails.

“To continue the tropical vibes, there was a margarita station, a taco truck, a donut truck making fresh fried donuts and a mobile photo booth trailer!” the photographer said.

The day was full of undeniable love and ended with the most magical send off as the bride and groom watched the sky light up with a firework show.
