Kylene Johnson + Scott Yando | Oct 28, 2017
Kylene and Scott met through work and, over the course of a few months, the after-work happy hours, lunch meetings, emails, and phone calls became more frequent and what started off as strictly business blossomed into something more. After being together for a while, the two began looking at rings and Kylene just knew that a proposal had to be coming soon! They took a little getaway to Myrtle Beach for Scott’s birthday and Kylene was very confident that it would happen on the trip. The first night, they went to a really nice restaurant and she was thinking that would be the night so they could celebrate the rest of the weekend – but it didn’t happen. They enjoyed the rest of the weekend together just relaxing and enjoying each other’s company. By the last night, Kylene had pretty much given up on the thought that Scott was going to pop the question that weekend. They went to one more nice dinner and enjoyed the gorgeous scenery behind them. Scott asked their server to take a picture of them and (luckily) the server knew what Scott was going to do and switched from camera mode to video mode. Scott asked Kylene to spend her life with him and she excitedly said “Yes!” at least three or four times!
Kylene and Scott knew they wanted to get married in the fall when the colors were changing yet the temperature was still warm. They chose Firethorne Country Club, a gorgeous venue outside of Charlotte, for their big day and it was perfect for their vision. Their lovely outdoor ceremony was set against an elegant stone staircase and an arbor decorated with flowers was the perfect backdrop for their “I Do’s.” Their reception was awash in their color scheme of coral, navy, and white and the look was perfect for the time of year! Each table was outfitted with a lace navy runner and gorgeous floral centerpieces along with handwritten name cards and all of the details and special moments were perfectly captured by The Wallflower Photographer. Their day was sentimental in so many ways and one in particular was Kylene and Scott’s desire to include a remembrance of Kylene’s son who had passed away. In lieu of party favors, the couple made a donation to the Levine’s Children’s Hospital in Kylene’s son’s name and it was such a special way to honor his memory. The entire day came together perfectly and it was truly a joyous celebration of Kylene and Scott’s love for each other!
Congratulations, Kylene & Scott!
