Brittany + Joshua | Aug 5, 2018
Brittany and Joshua met in middle school and immediately started a friendship that would last them through all the phases of their adolescent lives. Distance and dating others was no match for the special bond these two shared and in college they decided to give in and give dating each other a chance. It totally worked! They dated for six years, four of which were long distance due to Brittany attending college out of state. After grad school, she moved to the same city as Joshua and it wasn’t long before they were engaged!
Joshua had planned a surprise proposal involving a hot air balloon and all their friends and family but ended up having to make other plans due to weather issues. Instead, Joshua proposed to Brittany at her parent’s lake house, symbolically in the exact same spot that he asked her to be his girlfriend six years prior! She said “yes” and was even more surprised when all of their friends and family came out of hiding to celebrate the happy moment!
Brittany and Joshua’s wedding theme was indoor garden – and it was everything we would dream of! Originally, they had wanted an outdoor wedding, but the hot air balloon proposal incident made them re-think that idea! Instead, they decided to bring the outdoors in to avoid any weather-related stress.
Their gorgeous wedding was captured by Rebecca Hicks Photography and took place at The Lofts at Union Square, a fabulous industrial event venue in downtown High Point, North Carolina. They chose a color scheme of dusty rose and navy for their bridal party and filled the lofty space with gorgeous pink and white florals and pops of greenery.
Since dusty rose isn’t a floral color in season during the late summer, Brittany’s aunt got creative and sprayed and hand-painted peonies, hydrangeas, blossoming roses and dahlias the exact color pink that Brittany envisioned! The results were spectacular and truly brought the theme of an indoor garden to life.
Brittany looked stunning in her fitted lace gown with its plunging neckline and sweeping train. It was truly perfect for the theme and she completely took Joshua’s breath away!
The ceremony space was magical; fluted columns lined the seating area and the lofty ceilings were accented with hanging round floral arrangements and white linen drapery. The aisle was lined with gorgeous arrangements filled with dusty rose and white flowers atop golden pedestals and a matching runner led the way to the altar. The couple said their vows under a gorgeous white arbor featuring an amazing greenery display with jaw-dropping floral accents.
The entire ceremony setting was breathtaking and so romantic, and the style carried over into the reception where gorgeous natural evening light streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows and truly made it feel like a romantic garden. Glittering accent tablecloths added a touch of sparkle and an antique bicycle added a hint of vintage garden whimsy to the décor.
As the sun began to set and the nighttime stars came out, Brittany and Joshua and their guests had the time of their lives dancing the night away and enjoying their perfect wedding day. The newlyweds ended their night with a kiss under glittering sparklers before heading off to their fabulous honeymoon!
Congratulations, Brittany and Joshua!
