Andrea Hart + Marshall Costner | Oct 14, 2017
A match made online, Amanda and Marshall’s first date was full of nerves that prevented either one from feeling “the fireworks.” But they decided to give it another try and with each date, their relationship grew. “It was always easy to talk to him and be together,” said Andrea. “After a month of knowing him, I knew this was it.”
For their Charlotte wedding, the couple envisioned something that was equal parts elegant and simple. When it came to finding the perfect dress, Andrea knew the traditional gowns weren’t for her. From the dressing room of a local wedding dress shop, the bride-to-be called a friend (who is a dress designer) and asked her if she could help make her the dress of her dreams. Together, they custom designed the crop-top wedding gown that featured white lace over champagne nude and opal crystals paired with the A-line champagne silk skirt and a belt made from rose gold and opal crystals. Marshall, a traditional Southern gentleman, complemented this bride in a navy suit, blush shirt and pink bow tie.
They chose a color palette of navy blue, blush pink and champagne for their ceremony at Colonel Francis J. Beatty Park. They transformed the reception space with rose gold lanterns filled with fairy lights on the tables and pink and champagne colored pumpkins on the stone fireplace hearth.
Andrea’s advice to brides?
“The day itself goes by so quick. Be present and don’t worry about the small details anymore; there’s something so special about all your people being in one room, and you get to marry your best friend. That’s what the day is, don’t let anything cloud that.”
Congratulations, Andrea and Marshall!
