This enchanting styled shoot was inspired by the venue’s timeless, “Beauty and the Beast” vibe. The Bella Collina Mansion, located a short driving distance from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, exudes a feeling of poetic grandeur reminiscent of the castle in the beloved story.
Jessica George, the planner of the shoot shared, “When I first set eyes on the Bella Collina Mansion this is exactly what came to mind. The smell of the wooden floors, the great wooden entryways to the kitchen, and French doors leading out to the patio was something I thought only existed in fairy-tales!”
The mansion’s dreamy turrets and sweeping grand staircases inspired the team to bring the fairytale vision to life and thus, a modern-day “Beauty and the Beau” wedding design was born!
The model bride started her day with the super fun process of being transformed into a modern-day princess. Feeling inspired by the romantic hues of the shoot’s florals, the bride’s look was both regal and romantic. Velvety cream tones highlighted her eyes, while a dreamy blue shadow and accents of cool gray created a soft color transition. The bride’s glowing skin and blushing pink cheeks were made even more beautiful by her romantic hairstyle that paired perfectly with her two-piece dress. The bride’s loosely curled up-do was the perfect complement to her modern yet romantic two-piece gown with its sheer illusion bodice and full ballgown skirt while a glittering light gray accent belt and caged copper heels added the perfect edgy touch. The bridesmaid’s blue-gray gown with its soft texture and modern layered top completed the ensemble. Both ladies carried gorgeous bouquets filled with maroon and blush roses, white peonies, yellow accent flowers and loads of natural cascading greenery.
The outdoor lakeside ceremony was truly stunning, made only more beautiful by the modern copper arbor used as a ceremony backdrop. Floral arrangements of blue hydrangeas, ruby and peach hued roses, and dramatic palm fronds graced the corners and paired perfectly with the gleam of the copper archway and copper chairs.
The reception space was awash in shades of ocean blue and coral pinks, and the copper theme from the ceremony was carried over by way of accents that were found everywhere! The tables were decorated in soft blue linens that looked amazing under the copper colored plateware, blush-hued candleholders, copper table numbers, and copper chairs. Light from the setting sun danced off the metallic details all evening and filled the room with a sense of warm and romance.
The table was filled with gorgeous floral arrangements composed of blush colored roses, sweet-scented white peonies and blue hydrangea that sang fairytale romance. The arrangements sat in marble flower pots that added another modern element to the design.
The three-tiered asymmetrical cake really blew us away! The bottom layer was the prettiest shade of ocean blue with texture accents and slivers of blue marble fondant accents that matched the top layer. Paired with the shiny copper middle tier and the woodsy copper twigs trailing up the side, the cake tied the entire shoot together.
As the sun set on the day, a happy team of vendors couldn’t have been more thrilled with their work! The entire shoot embodied the warm, romantic feel inspired by “Beauty and the Beast” and its no doubt that “Beauty and the Beau” was a total success!
