Balloons and fruit are not décor commonly found at weddings but this styled shoot offers a new perspective on these décor pieces that are usually reserved for birthday parties and kitchens. Stepping away from traditional décor, this pomegranate and berry colored styled shoot shows us a whole new way to incorporate fun pieces into décor at a wedding, and we love it!
The shoot took place at an industrial styled The Venue at Falls Park which has concrete , white iron chandeliers and oversized windows that let in the most amazing natural light. The industrial style was softened with the bright berry colors and romantic touches like lace, gold and candlelight.
Even the bride’s auburn hair fit right into the color scheme. Her colorful locks were left down in curls, twisted back on one side. She wore a deep pomegranate like color on her lips that really popped and matched her bouquet perfectly. The bouquet had a mix of berry colored blooms with some greenery and had a whimsical feel to it thanks to the white wispy stems sticking out.
The dress was a thin strap, A-line gown. It had a deep V-neckline and even more dramatic V-shape low back. The bodice was lace and the skirt had a full train to it. The whole thing was simpler than some dresses out there, but oh so perfect.
The groom had his own more understated, simple look. He wore a navy blue suit, white dress shirt and no tie. His boutonniere added the right pop of color and style to his look.
In the reception space, there was a round guest table set with mahogany Chiavari chairs and a cream lace linen, unlike anything we’ve seen before. At each place setting there was a gold rimmed clear charger topped with a simple white dinner plate and a copper colored napkin separating the two. There was gold silverware and a green tinted wine glass that matched the sprig of greenery that sat on top of the dinner plate. Next to the greenery was a handwritten cursive thank you note beautifully done by Eden & Ev Calligraphy next to a glass with a slice of pomegranate in it, giving the table a nice pop of color. There were candles, more pomegranate slices and the bride’s bouquet in the center of the table.
“This shoot brings out the whimsical while still keeping the festive, bright colors, which pop against the neutral, bright space,” said the photographer. “The bursts of brightness and uniqueness gives way to an all-around beautiful, colorful styled shoot that is completely eye catching!”
Meanwhile, outside, there was a balloon arch hanging over the perfect greenery wall with iron wrought gate doors. The arch was also berry colored with pinks and oranges and purples all mixed in with a few white and black balloons mixed in for contrast. The balloons were all different sized to give it an element of style.
The arch was then brought inside and displayed behind the cake table. The two tiered cake was semi naked with white icing but had chocolate dripping over the top and off the edges. There was a flower cluster on each tier and was topped with another slice of pomegranate. Even though it was round, it sat on a gold square pedestal stand and we kind of love the shapes contrasting! Along the table were several gold geometric shaped lanterns, loose candles, a few single blooms, s strand of satin ribbon and of course, some pomegranate slices.
It’s amazing how sometimes the most unsuspecting things, in this case balloons and pomegranates, can create the most beautiful thing, in the most unexpecting way! The unique décor of this whimsical and berry bright styled shoot has us more than inspired!
