Lexi Tisher + Cameron Phillips | Aug 5, 2017
This love story started in the Emergency Room at High Point Regional Hospital where the two nurses Lexi and Cameron quickly became friends. Their friendship blossomed and they had their first official date at a Kenny Chesney concert in Greensboro (they’ve been to five more of his concerts since!). The two eventually began to look at rings but Cameron loves the element of surprise so he waited a few months until it was the right time to pop the question! While on a weeklong vacation to Ocean Isle Beach with their parents and friends, Cameron asked Lexi to join him in the crow’s nest and there, overlooking a beautiful sunset and a “No Shoes Nation” flag (a nod to Kenny Chesney), he asked her to marry him! Cameron designed the perfect ring and he also used the same ring box to propose that his dad used to propose to his mom almost 30 years prior to the day!
Lexi and Cameron’s wedding day was inspired by their relationship with each other and their families. They wanted to have it in a place that was close to home and easy for out of town guests to access; the Starmount Forest Country Club in Greensboro was the perfect choice! Cameron’s only request was that they have a Carolina blue and white color scheme as a nod to his recent doctorate graduation, their shared love of the Tarheels and the color of Lexi’s sorority, Alpha Delta Pi.
Lexi and Cameron wanted their theme to be timeless and simple, staying true to themselves as a couple. Their ceremony was based around their faith and it was very special to them that the chaplain from the hospital served as their officiant. After a rope-braiding ceremony and exchanging their vows, it was time to celebrate the new Mr. and Mrs.! Lexi and Cameron’s ballroom reception was beautifully decorated with charcoal linens, candlelight and soft pink florals to “pop” against their blue and white color scheme. In lieu of the traditional bouquet and garter toss, they incorporated a special VI Light ceremony, a tradtion in Alpha Delta Pi’s chapter where Lexi’s sisters stand in a circle and sing a special song to show support to the bride and groom for their marriage. It was definitely one of the highlights of the night!
After dancing the night away with friends and family, Lexi and Cameron shared one final dance with just the two of them before ending the night with a sparkler exit and a fabulous vintage getaway car. It was the perfect wedding day and the perfect start to Lexi and Cameron’s life together!
Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Phillips!
