Julie Freeman + John Jihoon Lee | Sep 17, 2016
Julie and John met on a very classically cold Michigan day where they bonded over Italian food, cupcakes, and hot tea. Julie is from Charlotte and was studying pediatric dentistry at the University of Michigan and John was studying accounting at Michigan State, all the way from Seoul, South Korea! Thus, began a whirlwind romance and their relationship blossomed over coffee, dessert, a love of Panera Bread, and many other things. John proposed by surprising Julie by driving 11 hours from Michigan to her parent’s house, where she found him standing on their dock, with a ring in his hand, ready to ask her the only question she wanted to hear. They fell in love in Michigan but their life would eventually take them back to North Carolina, where they would be married and bring two cultures and two families together with their love. They will also be making the long trip to Seoul where they will have a traditional Korean ceremony for friends and family there!
Julie and John describe their wedding day at the gorgeous Langtree Plantation in three words: Best. Day. Ever. The union of two international families was so special for everyone involved and the couple love remembering the fun they had spending time with friends and family on the dance floor captured perfectly by Samantha Laffoon Photography. Their color scheme of soft blush tones and dusty gray was perfect against the historic Civil War era plantation. Julie was gorgeous in her romantic lace gown and John was the perfect groom in his handsome black tux. The couple incorporated succulents into their décor and florals and the bride’s parents gave the bridal party “love succulents” that they had grown themselves! Julie and John’s day was truly wonderful the memories made with their friends and family truly made it the Best Day Ever.
Congratulations, Julie & John!
