Abigail Crenshaw + Steve Christian | Mar 4, 2017
Abigail and Steve’s romance began at the airport. As consultants, they were both staffed on a case in Boston but lived in Charlotte which meant they were on the same Monday morning and Thursday afternoon flights week in and week out. Through flight delays and airport dinners, they started to get to know each other. They’ve never been staffed in the same city again so Boston will always hold a special place in their heart.
Once Steve decided to propose, he planned a fancy night out at Marcel’s in D.C. (where they now live) followed by a late-night stroll to the Jefferson Memorial (Abigail’s favorite), complete with a picnic basket and champagne. After dinner, they got about half way to the memorial before Abigail realized her heels were a poor choice for the walk and Steve started regretting the soft shell crab. They called it an early night and headed home. The moment was clearly not right. The next morning, Abigail woke up to fine Steve missing. She got ready for the day, made coffee and was reading on the couch when Steve walked in with flowers and proposed. The fancy, extravagant dinner was never right. Instead, a private moment at home was the absolute perfect engagement for this sweet couple.
They wanted their wedding day to be filled with that same love, and that’s exactly what it was. Their shared love for the outdoors was brought inside with gorgeous trees from Clux Florals. The day was filled with sweet memories, captured by Katherine Elena Photography, and perfectly organized by Something Perfect Weddings & Events. With a classic color palette of ivory, blush, gray and green, the day was both beautiful and fun. The from the delicious food to the packed dance floor, it was a night to remember for all those involved.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
