Nicole McKenna + Daniel Sergent | Aug 25, 2016
Daniel and Nicole met at the airport after opening a new wine bar together.
“I remember thinking, ‘wow, she’s stunning’ in my head the first time I saw her,” said Daniel.
After their first date, Daniel knew she was the one:
“I remember telling my roommate right after that there was something special about Nicole and that I had this feeling in my gut like she could be the one.”
And from there, their relationship grew. The two tied the knot Aug. 25, 2016 in a Gatsby-themed wedding.
“Nicole and I have always loved vintage and older things,” said the groom. “One of the first things she told me on our first date was that she loved Art Deco and felt like she should have been apart of that era, which was something that I completely agreed on.”
As Daniel was searching for Nicole’s engagement ring he knew he had found it after one look at the 1920s circa ring. They decided to keep the theme for the entire wedding reception. The Charlotte wedding featured an Art Deco-inspired invitation suite; themed centerpieces featuring feathers and black and white stripes; and structured cakes (yes, we said cakes!).
The food and music drew inspiration from Daniel’s Venezuelan and Nicole’s Chilean cultures, complete with Venezuelan dishes and Latin music.
“I have to say everything was perfect that night,” said Daniel. “I wish we had more time, it feels like it went so quickly. The toasts that given were so perfect and emotional thoughtful. It felt like we were in a fairytale. I would also love to share how stunning and drop dead gorgeous Nicole looked that day; I could barley keep my composure when I first saw her walk down the aisle.”
We agree, Nicole was a simply gorgeous bride! We love the happiness, love and laughter that was captured in this gorgeous Charlotte wedding.
Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Sergent!
