Sarah Smaston + Dan Miller | Mar 14, 2016
This story is extra special as Dan is Bustld’s founder’s brother! Dan and Sarah knew of each other for years but re-connected at a shuffleboard tournament shortly after Sarah moved back to Charlotte. Their love quickly grew over their shared love for their families, dogs and exercise. They quickly became inseparable.
As Dan decided to propose to Sarah, he put an extreme amount of planning into creating the perfect plan for Sarah. He wanted to propose at home privately, have it captured by a photographer and involve both of their families. And there was no better day than her birthday. So he made a dinner reservation (early for sunset purposes!) and was nervous throughout the entire dinner. After dinner, he hurried home and then walked up to their doorstep that was decorated with four dozen red roses, lots of candles and rose petals. Sarah kept getting distracted as Dan tried to remember what he wanted to say. He got down on one knee and asked “will you marry me?” and of course, Sarah said “yes!” He proposed with a gorgeous heirloom ring that couldn’t have been more Sarah. Then he opened the door to their house and surprised Sarah one last time when both of their families and her best friend were waiting inside to celebrate her.
Congrats to Dan and Sarah on their upcoming Charlotte wedding!
