Charming at the Chapel

Jul 21, 2019

Timeless styled shoot with elegant decor and pastel hues at The Caldwell Inn & Chapel in Milan, Tennessee

In the heat of July, several Tennessee-area creatives collaborated to produce a dreamlike styled shoot at a one-of-a-kind space. The intent of this project was to showcase the classic beauty of this exquisite chapel and elegant inn space to future brides, grooms and planners.

“We really wanted to show the simple, timeless beauty of the venue and all of its attractions in this shoot by keeping true to a clean, romantic and bright color palette,” said the photographer.

On theme with the color palette, the invitation suite showcased a soft blue envelope, blush place cards and off-white deckle-edge stationery. The script featured gorgeous handwritten calligraphy and the pieces were sealed with a classy gold foil stamp.

The bridal suite was every girl’s fairytale - staged with plush tufted lounge furniture, wispy white drapery and a crystal chandelier. Surrounded by pastel pink walls covered in antique gold mirrors, the bride twirled in her vintage-inspired wedding gown.

From the boat-cut neckline to the A-line skirt, every detail on the dress was timeless and classic. The sheer bodice had cap sleeves and lace that worked its way down the tulle skirt to the hem of the train. It was the loveliest shade of off-white, with a row of exposed buttons trailing down the back.

Her hair was twisted into a classy low bun, pinned with a pearl-embellished hairpiece, and she wore a dainty pair of gold-embellished huggie drop earrings. Completing the feminine look, she laced up a strappy pair of metallic gold leather pumps with a sheer vamp featuring floral lace details.

Giving the classic black-and-white tuxedo a unique twist, the groom sported a dapper white dinner jacket. His ensemble was complete with a boutonniere made from a tiny blush spray rose and loose greenery - complementing the whimsical bridal bouquet.

For the bridal bouquet, the dramatic arrangement was overflowing with seeded and willow eucalyptus, spray and garden roses in shades of ivory and blush, and delicate baby’s breath - tied with a soft blue linen ribbon.

Inside the wedding chapel venue, the space was rich with history and elegance. There were dark wooden pews, candle-style chandeliers and an abundance of natural light flooding in through the windows. Draped across the ceiling beams, there were two panels of sheer ivory fabric that waterfalled down at the arbor.

As the bride, in her lace-trimmed cathedral-length veil, and the groom stood at the altar, the photographer snapped a breathtaking shot. After capturing a few more radiant moments in the manicured lawn and next to the charming old trolley, the bride made an outfit change for the dinner party.

Her sleeveless, A-line reception dress featured an embellished lace bodice with a plunging neckline that showed off her simple pendant necklace. She looked like a vision as she entered the beautiful antebellum home where the enchanting dinner party was set.

“The soft French blue and white color palette and vintage decor throughout the Inn will make brides and their attendants want to unpack and stay forever!” said the wedding photographer.

Inside the stately southern mansion venue, the tablescape design was stunning - drawing from the white, French blue, and wooden accents throughout the inn. The table was set with a blush linen, and every other white garden chair was adorned with a blush bow. On top, there was an antique gold candelabra and a centerpiece arrangement with statement white hydrangeas as the focal point.

Each place setting was complete with a brushed gold charger, layered with mismatched china plates. A deckle-edge menu embossed with a gold foil seal rested on top next to a single stem white rose. The display was complete with a blush napkin, mixed gold and silver flatware, and crystal glasses.

“We envisioned something timeless, bright, and romantic to display just how classic and beautiful the property truly is,” said the photographer.

The floral design was echoed in the cake design, with a wreath of willow eucalyptus at the base and a cluster of blush roses and silver dollar eucalyptus on the top. The three-tiered white wedding cake featured textured icing and was accompanied by a brushed gold platter of frosted cookies shaped like engagement rings and wedding cakes.

The couple popped a bottle of rosé, which paired perfectly with their dessert, and clinked glasses to celebrate a magical day.
