Classic Country Club Style

Arianna + Brandon | Oct 6, 2018

Burgundy, blush and ivory classic fall wedding with a hint of glamour and a modern twist at The Peninsula Club near Charlotte, North Carolina

Arianna and Brandon actually went to high school together, but it wasn’t until after graduation that they became friendly. They both started working at the same local grocery store and what started as a casual co-worker relationship developed into a six year long serious relationship.

While on a family vacation at the beach with Arianna’s family, Brandon set his plan into motion. Arianna was standing in the kitchen when her dad told her to come look at something outside on the beach. When she looked out the window she saw her entire family standing with Brandon on the beach where “will you marry me?” was written in the sand.

Even before the couple got engaged, they knew they wanted a fall country club wedding. When things started falling into place, their October wedding at a country club in Charlotte was set. The burgundy, blush and ivory color palette was perfect for the fall time and the classic style, while the gold accents added a glamorous twist.

White chairs lined the paver patio that overlooked the golf course and the lake in the distance. A cluster of greenery with ivory and burgundy roses were tied to the end chairs of the first and last rows, and a cluster of gold candle holders and greenery sat at the back row.

At the front was a wooden pergola draped with a piece of white fabric and decorated with two huge floral pieces. There were white hydrangeas, blush and ivory roses, burgundy chrysanthemums and so much greenery dripping from the arrangements.

Guests began to arrive and fill in the seats. Meanwhile, inside, Arianna was zipping up her gown and Brandon was putting on his jacket. The two met for just a moment before the ceremony, not to see each other but to simply hold hands to calm their nerves and share a special moment together.

Brandon headed down the aisle with all his groomsmen trailing behind him. They all wore matching formal black tuxes, but Brandon wore a black tie and white pocket square while the rest of the men wore burgundy ties and pocket squares. The whole look was super sleek.

The bridesmaids made their way down the aisle, each in the same burgundy high neck dress. They each carried a bouquet similar to the florals on the arbor that totally complemented their dresses. Next down the aisle were some of the cutest kiddos we’ve ever seen. Two little men in suspenders and bowties and “don’t worry ladies, I’m still single” signs followed behind two little flower girls in flower crowns. It doesn’t really get any cuter than that!

Then, the moment everyone had been waiting for came and Arianna started down the aisle. She wore the most amazing Hayley Paige gown that she knew would be her wedding dress from the very moment she saw it, even before she was engaged.

“One of my good friends was dress shopping for her wedding day, which was actually when I saw my dress for the first time,” said the bride. “Right then I knew that if she didn't choose it (which she didn't), that dress would be mine one day.”

The ballgown had thin straps, a beaded bodice and so, so many layers of tulle in the skirt. Her hair was half pulled back in loose wavy curls with a few strands left out to frame her face. The diamond teardrop earrings were the perfect accessory and all she needed to complete the look.

When Arianna reached Brandon, she handed off her bouquet and the couple joined hands. In the blink of an eye, the ceremony had ended, and Arianna and Brandon shared their first kiss as husband and wife.

Back inside, the finishing touches were put on the ballroom. The room already had such an elegant feel to it with its several crystal chandeliers and white draped window doors, it really didn’t need much else.

“The inside of our venue had a lot of character which we loved,” Arianna said. “The decoration for cocktail hour and the reception was pretty minimal because we did not need much.”

There were gold geometric candle holders and acrylic table numbers that brought a bit of a modern feel, while the centerpieces were all lush, traditional floral arrangements made with the classics, like hydrangeas and roses.

Each guest table had a classic white linen and Chiavari chairs. At each seat was an acrylic charger with a gold beaded rim wrapped in a burgundy napkin, topped with a gold rimmed white dinner plate and finished off with a simple menu card. It was again modern, yet classic all wrapped into one flawless look.

The sweetheart table had a similar cascading floral centerpiece and their chairs were wrapped with greenery and a chair signs that when next to each other read, “together is our favorite place to be.”

Once guests found their seats, the party kicked off. The bride and groom made their grand entrance and shared their first dance together as husband and wife. After the parent dances, dinner was served and shortly after, toasts were given.

Before the dance floor officially opened up for the night, dessert was served. There was a traditional three tiered white cake with a cascade of blush and burgundy roses, but there was also a whole other dessert in store for guests.

“We both love ice cream,” explained the bride. “When we were reviewing the food options during planning and we saw having an ice cream sundae bar was an option, we knew right then and there having one was a must!”

There was fresh vanilla ice cream for guests to help themselves to and so many different toppings to choose from. There were the classics, like sprinkles and whipped cream, and fun options, like Oreos, gummy bears and strawberries. All of a sudden we are having a huge craving for ice cream!

When the dance floor officially opened for the night, it was packed up until the very last moment. As all their guests headed outside to line up for the sparkler send off, Arianna and Brandon shared one last final, private dance and it was a moment they would remember forever, on top of a day they will never forget.

Congratulations to new Mr. and Mrs.!
