Classic church ceremony and a garden party reception with a light blue, peach and blush color palette at The Old Lystra Inn in Chapel Hill, North Carolina
Kelsey and Sam were married on the most perfect October day. They planned a classic feeling wedding with a colorful garden twist. The church ceremony and reception’s draped tent dripping with chandeliers set the classic tone while the bright color palette, lush florals and greenery galore added a garden inspired touch.
As the church began to fill up with friends and family, they were wowed by the raw beauty of the church. With its classic brick exterior, stained glass windows and hanging chandeliers the couple didn’t need to add any extra décor to the church.
Sam took his spot at the altar with his groomsmen, who all wore matching light grey suits. Kelsey’s bridesmaids took their spots in matching light blue dresses opposite the groomsmen just before Kelsey came down the aisle. Most of the bridal party were siblings and cousins, which made the day all the more special.
Kelsey stepped into the chapel and as everyone rose to their feet, their jaws hit the floor. She stunned in a classic strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline. It had the most beautiful lace detailing and her simple accessories were the perfect addition to her look. She had a beautifully colored bouquet that incorporated a ring of friend who passed away in high school, for a sweet touch.
With her bouquet in one hand, her father in the other hand and her cathedral length veil floating behind her, Kelsey made her way down the aisle toward Sam. As soon as he locked eyes on her, it was as if they were the only two in the church and nothing else mattered.
In the blink of an eye, the couple were officially announced as husband and wife and sealed the deal with their first kiss as a married couple. They exited the church and soaked up those first few moments of newlywed bliss together.
While their guests headed over to the reception, the couple and their bridal party stayed behind for some pictures. Thanks to Radian Photography, they found the most beautiful spots for pictures.
Guests arrived at the cutest little picturesque house, white picket fence included, where the tented reception was set up. They were welcomed by a chalkboard welcome sign and made their way to the back of the house where cocktail hour was set up on the lawn.
The lawn was lit up by market lights strung from one corner to another. Beneath the lights were several cocktail tables wrapped with a classic white linen and tied off with another piece of white fabric. On top of the table were small arrangements and candles that added to the natural beauty of the woods surrounding the lawn.
As guests finished drinking their cocktails, they headed over to the mirrored seating chart to find their seats. At the same time, the bridal party and couple arrived at the venue to finish up pictures.
When guests stepped into the tent to find their seats, they were yet again wowed by the beauty of the room. The whole tent was draped with fabric so you couldn’t even tell it was a tent. There were multiple chandeliers hanging from the ceiling that really brought that classic wedding style to the room.
Round guest tables were draped with classic white linens and set with wooden crossback chairs. In the center of each table was a black lantern sitting on top of a wooden slab and surrounded by bright and colorful blush and peach toned florals. It felt like something you would find in a garden.
Once everyone was seated, Kelsey and Sam made their way into the space and shared a first dance as husband and wife together. After their first dance together, Kelsey shared a dance with her father that had the most special touch. The song they danced to was a lullaby her parents used to sing to her and her sister played the ukulele and sang the lullaby they danced to.
After the special father daughter dance, the couple took their seats at the special sweetheart table. The table was decorated with a. cascading floral arrangement of bright coral, peach and blush colored flowers and so much greenery. They had custom bride and groom stemless champagne glasses they used to toast with throughout the night.
The dance floor opened just after the couple cut their classic two tiered white wedding cake. The cake was surrounded by so many flowers, the cake table was like its own little garden.
Instead of a late night snack, the couple had a late night coffee truck stationed outside the tent. It was such a cute way to add a unique touch to their wedding, not to mention perfect for that crisp October evening!
In the end, everyone headed outside for a sparkler exit. As Kelsey and Sam reached the end of the sparklers, they released a paper lantern into the sky for the most perfect ending to the most perfect day.
Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs.!
