THE STORY:
In an ode to the popular holiday, this colorful Day of the Dead inspired wedding was gorgeous and special. Using a full color palette of bright jewel tones, the vendors created a visual thrill, with eyes bouncing around from color to color.
The details of the ceremony and reception were so thoughtful. The ceremony had a cactus backdrop with florals draped along it, with green-tinted ghost chairs for seating. All of the colors of the rainbow showed the life and love of the couple. The couple’s vows were written out on an acrylic scroll in colorful calligraphy. The bouquet and centerpieces were full of different flowers in varying colors, with lush greenery surrounding. The bride and groom wore a dress and tux with a vintage, soulful flair.
The contrast of the acrylic elements and bright colors created a stunning backdrop for this reception. An iridescent sequin tablecloth covered the long table, with a variety of hand-dyed florals of all colors. The tablescape is fun and exciting, paying homage to the theme by using sugar skull plates and mini maracas as place cards. The cake stand was styled like an ofrenda, or offering table used on Day of the Dead. Along with the party’s desserts are the photos of loved ones lost, honoring those who cannot be there. It was a reverent touch to a joyful theme.
