Colorful Flowers Mixed With The City Lights

Stacey + Benjamin | Sep 22, 2018

Classic wedding with a glamorous touch filled with colors of plum, fuchsia, blue and green at The Terrace at Cedar Hill in Charlotte, North Carolina

Any wedding that has colorful flowers, with the city lights twinkling behind the live music is a good wedding in our books! But Stacey and Benjamin’s wedding wasn’t just good, it was perfect.

The couple planned their wedding for September and it couldn’t have been a more gorgeous day. With the perfect weather and bright flowers it felt like it was still summer for just a little bit longer.

Stacey spent the morning getting primped and pampered with her ladies while Benjamin had some fun with his guys in custom made baseball jerseys. When the time came to get dressed, Stacey stepped into her lace and tulle ballgown

The dress had a lace V-neck top and tulle skirt. There was a cut out in the back that made the perfect statement. Paired with her updo with loose curls hanging down framing her face and the jeweled hair pieces in her bun, it was a classic and timeless look with the right amount of glamour.

Guests began to arrive at the couple’s home church for the ceremony. The church was breathtaking with its wooden pews and tall wooden arched ceiling that was lined with the most unique chandeliers. There were oversized altar arrangements full of so much color and simple greenery pew markers tied off with a white ribbon.

Benjamin appeared and took his spot at the front of the altar. He was joined by his groomsmen, all wearing the same matching three piece navy suit and champagne colored tie. The colorful flowers in their boutonnieres added the right pop against the classic suits. One by one, the bridesmaids, each in a different plum colored dress, made their way down the aisle to take their places opposite the men.

Everyone rose to their feet while Stacey and her dad made their way down the aisle. Once they met Benjamin, his hands were joined with Stacey’s and they never let go. Before they knew it, they were sharing their first official kiss as husband and wife.

After the ceremony, guests traveled over to the reception venue that overlooked the city of Charlotte. They were welcomed by a guest book of the city skyline for them to sign. And then headed outside to the terrace for cocktails while admiring the skyline in person.

Inside, there were round guest tables set with champagne colored linens and gold Chiavari chairs. There was a plum colored napkin draped at each place setting that made the whole table pop. As if the napkins weren’t colorful enough, each centerpiece included an arrangement of the most colorful and beautiful flowers. There were green and blue hydrangeas, plum snapdragon, fuchsia roses and so many other fun colors. The gold mercury vases, votives and acrylic table numbers added that hint of glamour. The sweetheart table was set similarly but with a textured and shimmering linen paired with an arrangement of colorful flowers with greenery cascading off the table.

Once guests took their seats, the couple made their entrance and shared a sweet first dance with each other. After their dance, there were more big moments to happen like the speeches, and parent dances. Lucky for them, each moment was perfectly captured by Rob + Kristen Photography.

Also, perfectly captured by the photographers were the private moments Stacey and Benjamin shared on the terrace while their guests started dinner inside. With the sun starting to set, the city started to glow behind them and there wasn’t a more perfect moment for the two of them and the city they shared a love for.

When they returned inside, it was time for them to cut their cake. The white five-tiered cake had three full sized tiers with horizontal icing and two half sized tiers with a dot pattern. There were a few floral clusters and one large cluster on top. It was surrounded by gold votive candles and gold stemmed champagne flutes for a toast.

Once all the formalities were out of the way, the live band kicked things off and kept the couple and their guests going all night long as they danced beneath the crystal chandeliers.

The time came when they had to say goodbye, but at least they did it in style! Guests lined the exit with customized foam glow sticks as Stacey and Benjamin made their way out.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
