Glamorous styled shoot with vibrant hues and elegant decor at the historic Revolution Mill in Greensboro, North Carolina
In the heat of the North Carolina summer, this creative team brought to life a glamorous styled shoot with vibrant hues in deep berry and tangerine. Rich and bold tones were paired with elegant decor and tropical floral elements, which contrasted beautifully with the historic mill setting.
“Our desire for this styled shoot came from wanting to network with other creatives in the North Carolina area,” said the photographer. “We found it important to be able to work with others that could help bring this session to life.”
For the bridal look, the model wore an exquisite ivory gown with a deep “V” cut in the front, open back and full tulle skirt. Under sheer tulle overlay, the fabric underneath featured a subtle windowpane print for some added detail. Her veil hung under her bun sitting effortlessly on her shoulders, and she completed the look with an embellished lariat necklace and crystal encrusted tiara.
Next to his bride, the groom looked effortlessly dapper in a modern gray three-piece tuxedo and ivory bow tie. They added a lovely pop of color using a bright orange garden rose from the flower arrangements for his boutonniere.
Inside the mill’s luxurious bridal suite, the team recreated a sentimental first look moment with the bride and groom. Following the first look, they captured more shots outside in the picturesque, blossoming flower garden, which really brought out the couple’s romantic side as they embraced between Victorian columns.
“They worked the camera perfectly,” said the photographer. “It was as if no one was there!”
Out in the garden, surrounded by lush greenery and fresh white summer blooms, the custom bridal bouquet stood out with bold colors and tropical flair. It was full of lilies, garden roses and dahlias in shades of fuschia, tangerine, berry and cream, mixed in with vibrant green banana leaves.
“The bouquet worked perfectly for our bride and she posed it so well,” said the photographer. “We are still amazed at the florist’s creation - the flowers were gorgeous!”
The space at the old historic mill provided the most charming setting, full of unique character and industrial elegance. Original maple floors, grand chandeliers, exposed brick, custom iron work, high ceilings and enormous windows allowing for an abundance of natural summer light all set the tone for this shoot.
Up the grand staircase and on a platform overlooking the venue’s expensive space, the team set up the most romantic, intimate dinner table for the couple. There was a round table covered in a textured, metallic gold tablecloth, paired with two gold chiavari chairs. A statement floral arrangement was placed directly on the edge of the table without a vase, giving it a relaxed touch.
“She enhanced the couple’s table with a gold layer which went perfectly under our florals provided by the florist,” said the photographer. “The wine glasses were also purple which added a nice touch to the table set up!”
The place settings were complete with floating glass candles, gold square-shaped plates, violet satin napkins with gold napkin rings, and violet ombre crystal acrylic champagne flutes. Also, the dinner tablescape perfectly complemented the wedding cake table design.
“The planner really helped bring out the bold vibes with deep purple sequin tablecloth for the cake table!” said the photographer.
They showcased a simple, single-tiered buttercream cake, with orange slice garnishes on top and handfuls of blue and black berries at the base. The display was accompanied by candle votives and a flower arrangement in a silver fluted vase. After the bride and groom cut the cake, they clinked their glasses and sipped their bubbly - ending the shoot on the sweetest note.
“Our favorite part of the shoot was simply the collaboration,” said the photographer. “Seeing everything come together that we had planned for, nice vibes, and music playing the background while creating fun moments filled with laughter...This was the best part!”
