Fun fact: This shoot was inspired by the classic tale of Sleeping Beauty, and in particular, the enchanting story of Aurora.
THE STORY:
Stylist Valentina of The Stars Inside and makeup artist Kayleigh from KayleighK MUA dreamed up this editorial shoot that re-imagined the childhood fairytale of Sleeping Beauty. The shoot was set in a moss-laden, tranquil hideaway in a local garden. They utilized the feminine shades of pink and blue paired with earthy tones of brown, white and green.
The florals created by Saint Floral were inspired by Aurora as well:
“I set to curate each floral scene to echo the sweet melody of Aurora’s soprano aria and her ethereal grace, arrays of translucent petalled-blooms in the palest blues and sugar pinks recalling the fairies and Aurora’s gown, which dances between spellbound colour, amongst pops of dark, sultry florals and thorn-rich branches as a reminder of Maleficent’s haunting undertone."
The dinner table was complete with wild, asymmetric floral centerpieces, bespoke botanical cocktails, delicate floral stationary and exquisite chocolates. Each element created an elegant and modern look fit for a princess.
THE FAVORITE THINGS:
The dessert station by Malarkey Cakes which featured cakes, popcorn, biscuits, and more, and a feast of seasonal grazing platters by Platter London.
