Glamping in the Great Smoky Mountains

Bryna + Will | Aug 24, 2019

Boho-inspired anniversary session with edgy florals and earth tones at Under Canvas in the Great Smoky Mountains

Captured during an eco-friendly glamping experience, this boho-chic anniversary session inspires future couples to elope in the most dreamlike location. Nestled in a misty Tennessee valley at the foot of the Great Smoky Mountains, the unique set-up was brought to life by an earthy color palette and moody florals.

“This bohemian-inspired anniversary session is filled with earthy romantic vibes that will inspire adventure elopements and couple sessions alike,” said the photographer.

Inside one of the teepees, Bryna made finishing touches to her ethereal bridal look. She emerged in a one-of-a-kind, off-white gown infused with bohemian vibes and earthy tones. The dress boasted dramatic bell sleeves and a romantic plunging neckline and delicate lace worked its way from top to bottom.

Her long, rich brunette waves cascaded naturally over her shoulders, and she wore a bold red lip and minimal gold jewelry to accent the ensemble.

Will donned a deep wine-colored suit, styled with a bolo tie and a dried floral boutonniere. More dried florals were incorporated into Bryna’s natural bridal bouquet, tied with vintage lace and overflowing with whimsical pampas grass, wild greenery and ruscus, and a giant ivory protea.

Playing off of the edgy, moody floral design in the bouquet, the florist added a handful to accent Bryna’s olive-colored felt fedora. The blush and ivory dried bunny tails paired with the pop of merlot added a bit of folky flair to her ensemble.

Tucked away in the mountains, the cloud cover created a cozy overcast essence for the shoot. All around them, panoramic views drew the eye with rich blues and greens. On-site, the rustic tents and teepees added bohemian elements and earthy vibes.

“How cool is this luxury campground filled with glamping tents and teepees?” said the wedding photographer. “You get the perks of hotel hospitality in a remote valley full of views.”

Each photo was more epic than the last, as the couple fit right into the frame with effortless sophistication.

“I love when my vision and style perfectly align with a couple,” said the photographer. “Everyone wins.”

For the last few breathtaking shots, Bryna and Will stood amongst the low-hanging clouds drifting against mixed shades of blue. The surrounding mountains provided a beautiful combination of nature and intimacy - a dream for couples with elopement on the mind.

“With COVID, I hope that more and more couples consider an elopement or intimate wedding,” said the photographer. “The East Coast is amazing, and they definitely don't have to go out west to get the adventure vibes!”

It’s the idyllic bespoke and adventurous experience for an intimate wedding with the most unforgettable backdrop.
