Gold, Glam and Greenery on a Historic Plantation

Lauren + Adam | May 27, 2017

Glamorous style meets rustic feel at gold, pink and greenery filled wedding at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens in Charleston, South Carolina

Lauren’s family frequently vacationed in and around Charleston when she was growing up so when it came time for Lauren to plan her wedding, she knew it was the perfect pace to say, “I do.” Luckily, Adam was on board with Lauren’s Charleston vision of a rustic plantation wedding with a glamorous twist.

The bride spent the morning getting glammed up with her ladies. Her hair was done in a big wavy side fishtail braid and her lips popped with a bright lipstick. She put in her oversized diamond earrings and was ready to get into her dress.

It was a lace fitted dress with a sweetheart neckline with a layered train. That dress looked like it was made for Lauren. The matching sheer lace heels that she wore underneath were just the icing on top of the cake!

Adam stood underneath the Spanish moss covered trees in a blue jacket, khaki pants and a paisley tie waiting for Lauren to walk up for their first look. The best part of his outfit actually went unseen. He had his jacket embroidered with their names and wedding dates underneath his collar. Lauren tapped Adam on his shoulder from behind and he turned around to see his almost wife. Talk about a sweet moment!

As the couple made their way around the grounds, Easterday Creative captured their love and passion in the most beautiful places. From white bridges to ivy covered iron gates, each spot was more beautiful than the next.

Meanwhile, guests began to fill in the chairs set out on the plantation’s green lawn. At the front, the focal point was the “famous magnolia oak” tree with plenty of Spanish moss hanging down and a large wooden cross wrapped with greenery. They were greeted by a sign directing them to choose a seat, not a side; something we totally agree with!

The bridal party and Adam took their places in front of the cross and all heads turned as guests stood to their feet when Lauren made her way down the aisle on the arms of her parents. Before they knew it, the couple was sharing their first kiss as husband and wife.

Once the ceremony ended, guests were welcome into the reception space. Before finding their seats, they stopped at the guest book table, which was covered in a gold sequin linen and signed the map guest book. There was also a sweet hand written verse on an oval mirror, an Instagram hashtag sign and some floating candles decorating the table. Across the way, on another gold sequined table, guests found their names on the gold foil seating chart and dropped off their gifts and cards.

Inside the rustic inspired space was a mixture of long rectangular tables and rounds tables. The tables all had white linens, gold chargers with a white napkin on top, and a printed menu card on top of that. The rectangular tables had a long greenery garland and candles scattered throughout. The round tables had a mix of small vases with greenery and a few blooms and a variety of different candles.

There was a sweetheart table for the couple in a gold sequin linen, of course, and a greenery garland and candles on top. The bride also put her bouquet on the table which was made up of some light pink and white blooms plus greenery. White drapery that was tied back perfectly framed the table.

There were exposed wooden beams wrapped with drapery in between rustic chandeliers wrapped with greenery; against all the pops of gold and candlelight, the rusticand glamorouslooks combined into one.

Before the couple made their grand entrance into the reception, the bride bustled her dress and added a bejeweled sash and even though it was something so small, it gave her a whole new look. Lauren and Adam made their way into the reception and onto the dance floor to share their epic first dance, lift and all!

After dinner and some dancing, the couple took a break to cut their cake. The three tiered cake sat on a gold sequined covered table and a gold cake stand. The bottom and top layers were a smooth white while the middle layer was a textured gold. There were some light pink flowers on top and greenery wrapped around the middle.  The night ended with cake and more dancing, as all good weddings do!

Congratulations to the newlyweds!
