“I Do” in the Oasis

Rachel + Timothy | Mar 7, 2020

Romantic beachfront wedding with rich forest green and soft shades of blush at Marco Beach Ocean Resort in Marco Island, Florida

Rachel and Tim met at a cousin’s going-away party, when Tim was brought - unannounced - by a friend of his. He met Rachel’s mother first, and when she asked if he’d like to meet her daughter, he responded, “yes, please.”

“He is breathtakingly handsome and calls me his Bellissima - which means beautiful girl in Italian,” said Rachel. “I look back at the first time our paths crossed, his eyes and mine, the moment we locked gazes, I knew he was special.”

After a bit of time passed, the two were in Maui celebrating Rachel’s birthday. While they were out exploring together, Tim popped the question!

“Fast forward to their wedding day,” said the photographer. “This same love and affection to each other was radiating!”

Their breathtaking beachfront wedding was the epitome of relaxed elegance. Sparkling blue water, white sugary sand, soft spring breezes and a picturesque sunset created the dreamiest backdrop for their celebration.

Rachel’s fairytale day began with the fairytale dress: a figure-sculpting, ivory gown with romantic embroidery. The design began at the sheer bodice, traveling down a dramatic, plunging neckline and over the sides of the crepe skirt.

Her rich, dark waves were twisted into a half-up, half-down style, with an exquisite silver hair vine embellished with delicate pearls and crystals. She completed the look in a glamorous pair of white leather heels with a sparkly silver strap.

For his wedding-day look, Tim donned a tailored, forest green dinner jacket that popped against off-white slacks and a white dress shirt. He topped off the dapper ensemble with a floral print pocket square and a pair of sleek brown loafers.

The ceremony was set out on the white sand beach, with a linen-draped pergola creating the altar moment. Wispy white fabric billowed in the sea breeze, with an oversized floral installation breathing life into the space. There were tiny spray roses and blossoming garden roses in shades of cream and blush, mixed in with vibrant cascading greenery.

As guests took their seats on the beach, they were transported to an oasis. There were mismatched brass lanterns with tall glass candles at the beginning of the aisle, intertwined with willow eucalyptus. With the ocean as the backdrop, the bridesmaids popped in their dusty rose, beaded halter gowns, while the groomsmen glowed in dapper off-white dinner jackets.

When Rachel made her way down the aisle, all of the tones came together in her elegant bridal bouquet - full of ivory and blush roses and ranunculus. Afternoon sunlight added radiance to everyone’s faces as they watched her and Tim take one another’s hands at the altar.

“Now I can’t wait to breathe him in, every day,” said Rachel. “We give each other reasons to be alive, to live, to love and be loved.”

Once they exchanged their beautiful vows and shared their first kiss as husband and wife, Rachel and Tim escaped for an intimate golden hour shoot. The love in their eyes and the smiles on their faces exuded nothing but unconditional love and pure happiness.

“This joyfulness followed through to the rest of the day and night,” said the photographer. “And what an opportunity it was to witness and capture.”

Inside the luxury boutique resort, guests were invited to a glamorous, indoor-outdoor reception. The tables were covered in white linens, set with gold Chiavari chairs and topped with floral arrangements in edgy gold vases. An abundance of candlelight from tall glass candles and tiny gold candle votives added warmth to the center of each table.

Each place setting at the dinner party featured a brushed gold charger, layered with an elegant printed menu and tiny sprig of willow. For the place cards, each glittery gold-rimmed card was placed in a topaz holder.

Rachel and Tim spent the evening with their closest friends and families dancing and soaking in the sunset on the terrace, before cutting the gorgeous cake! Their three-tiered wedding cake was a work of art - with blush buttercream icing, a textured gold leaf shell and fondant flowers that were practically in bloom.

This wasn’t the only sweet treat served at the party... guests were invited to indulge in a custom candy bar with all the fixings. It was the perfect way to cap off the evening, just before the bride and groom made their grand exit.

As the towering palm trees lit up the night with the warm glow of string lights, Tim dipped Rachel for a photo-worthy final kiss.

Congratulations, Rachel and Tim!
