Elizabeth + David | Apr 7, 2019
Sophisticated and modern, garden style wedding with lavender and gold at the Mint Museum Uptown in Charlotte, North Carolina
Elizabeth and David first met after David moved to Chicago. Elizabeth decided to befriend him to help him find comfort in his new city. Their friendship turned into more, they moved to a new city together and before she knew it, David proposed while they were on a trip together in Nashville.
The couple knew they wanted a spring wedding, so they settled on a perfect late April date. It was a sophisticated and modern wedding that tied into the season perfectly with a lavender palette and so much greenery that softened the space and brought a garden feel inside.
The morning started with Elizabeth and her bridesmaids getting their hair and makeup done before returning to the hotel to get dressed. The girls got dressed in their matching light lavender floor length dresses while Elizabeth changed behind closed doors. When everyone was dressed, Elizabeth opened the doors to her room and revealed her bridal look.
Elizabeth had a beautifully modern dress with lace and beading in geometric shapes. It had a sweetheart neckline and skinny illusion sleeves that carried into an illusion back with button detailing. Her hair added to her modern look with a half up, half down twisted volumized ‘do. Her simple pearl earrings were the perfect touch that tied in her pearl accented heels and finished the whole look.
Guest began to fill the church pews that were accented by greenery and white ribbon. Once everyone had taken their seats, David and his groomsmen took their spots at the altar. David stood out in a navy-blue tux while his groomsmen wore traditional black tuxes.
With her veil floating behind her and a beautiful lavender and white rose filled bouquet in her hand, Elizabeth made her way down the aisle to marry the love of her life. Before they knew it, Elizabeth and David shared their first kiss as a married couple.
While Amanda Moss Photography captured the newlyweds and their bridal party in the gardens next door, guests headed across the street to the reception venue.
When guests arrived, they were offered a signature cocktail inspired by the couple’s dogs, Fitz and Luke. As guests enjoyed their cocktails, they soaked in the view the venue’s terrace offered. Once the bridal party and newlyweds arrived, everyone was invited inside to take their seats.
Guests were blown away by the room. With the help of Something Perfect, the room was transformed into a sophisticated, modern garden.
The walls were lined with fabric to bring an elegant feel to the space. There were a mix of round and rectangular family style tables, all draped with a neutral colored shimmering linen. The round tables had a singular white and lavender arrangement full of hydrangeas, roses, greenery and actual fresh lavender. The rectangular tables had multiple arrangements of the same florals lining the length of the table. There were modern gold table numbers to finish off the look.
Hanging overhead of the rectangular tables were greenery chandeliers, which softened the whole look and tied into all the greenery of the centerpieces.
Elizabeth and David were welcomed into the room with clapping and cheers as they headed to the dance floor to share their first dance together. When they finished, they took their seats at their sweetheart table. The table was draped with the same shimmering linen and decorated with a greenery garland and some loose florals and gold candles.
After dinner, they headed across the room to cut their cutting cake. It was a simple one-tiered white cake topped with fresh lavender and white and lavender blooms.
Once the cake was cut, the band started playing and kept the party going all night long. When things came to an end, the couple was cheered off the front steps of the building with ribbon streamers!
We wish a lifetime of happiness for Elizabeth and David!
