Mallory Owens + Stuart Flynn | Nov 3, 2017
"Mallory, this is your husband, and I can't wait for you to meet him." Those words, spoken by a mutual friend, were the start of Mallory and Stuart's love story. While Mallory laughed at her friend's proclamation, it turns out she was right! The friend told Stuart the same thing and while he also didn't believe it, enough coaxing convinced him to reach out to Mallory on Facebook. Their first phone call lasted five hours and led to Mallory traveling to Charlotte from Wilmington to visit the man who would become her husband. Both knew instantly they had something special and a year later, Stuart got down on one knee on the boardwalk in downtown Wilmington and asked Mallory to marry him!
Mallory and Stuart’s coastal wedding was a romantic and lively affair. They knew that Wilmington would be the perfect place to start the next chapter of their lives together and selected the gorgeous Brooklyn Arts Center in downtown historic Wilmington as their venue. The remodeled old church with its walled courtyard offered everything they envisioned for their big day while the lush greenery and trees provided the perfect setting for their ceremony. Strings of matket lights added an air of romance to the fall evening. Mallory stunned in her long-sleeved gown with lace sleeves and Cathedral-length veil while Stuart was radiant in this navy suit and burgundy tie.
Prior to the ceremony, the two read love letters to one another but didn’t see each other until Mallory came down the aisle; the look on their faces was pure magic. The beautiful ceremony was followed by a lively trip around town in a classic trolley car with their wedding party where they took photos before heading to the reception space to party!
The reception was stunning and filled with candlelight and the soaring cathedral ceilings, brick walls, and floor-to-ceiling windows added eye-catching drama. Luxurious centerpieces full of light pink and deep red flowers, lush greenery, gold accents and navy linens added to the romantic fall feel. The newlyweds and their guests laughed and shed happy tears as they listened to heartfelt speeches from the mother of the bride, maid of honor, and best man before heading to the dance floor for the rest of the fun-filled night. The celebration ended with a lively Clemson Tigers chant, and then Mallory and Stuart made their exit via a glittering sparkler archway before being whisked off in a vintage Rolls Royce to start their new life together!
Congratulations, Mallory and Stuart!
